When it comes to end-of-the-season awards, someone will always feel under-appreciated or even robbed, depending on who you ask.
The results for the NBA All-Defensive Teams were announced on Monday, and there were plenty around the league who questioned some of the names that failed to make the list.
Those in Houston will wonder how Dwight Howard failed to make the list, while Los Angeles Clippers fans will scratch their heads about the exclusion of DeAndre Jordan, who trailed Roy Hibbert by 13 points for the Second Team.
Most notably, though, there are many who believe Memphis Grizzlies guard Tony Allen should absolutely be on one of the teams, including Jeff Teague, who actually received a couple of votes himself on the ballot.
How tony Allen didn’t make the all defensive team… Y’all gone have him locking everybody up next season

Allen received the third most votes (60) out of the players that failed to make the cut – well behind Patrick Beverley (112) and Jimmy Butler (103). An argument could be made that Allen missed too much time to be considered – he played 55 games – but Beverley also managed to play just 56 games, so that logic is out the window.
Perhaps the best way to make everyone happy is to extend the award by making an All-Defensive Third Team. That way, all the deserving names – Jordan, Anthony Davis, Tim Duncan, Allen and Mike Conley – would get the recognition they deserve, albeit not in the highest form.
