Since it’s Thanksgiving, we’ll use a few photos from around the NBA that players posted celebrating the holiday. Of course, there were plenty all over social media, but these were the few that I went with to share. We all know it’s the time of year for family and friends to spend time together and share what they are thankful for. It’s also the time of year in which you’re allowed to eat as much as you want, as fast as
Photo of the Day: James Johnson and Detective Carter (Chris Tucker)
Today’s Photo of the Day might be my favorite one to date. If you can’t tell from the title, Chris Tucker is not Chris Tucker to me. Maybe he is to you, but I’m not too concerned about that. No, rather he is now and forever will be known as Detective James Carter. That’s a link for those who have shamed themselves by never seeing the Rush Hour trilogy. [Read more…]
Photo of the Day: Mike Miller Gets Key to Hometown
Mike Miller has found himself moving around the NBA throughout his 14-year career. After spending a year playing for the Memphis Grizzlies after he was amnestied by the Miami Heat, he chose to follow his old teammate LeBron James back to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Although he has floated around the League, Miller seems to be a much respected, well-liked teammate. Of course there’s the story about King James being angry that the Heat amnestied Miller after they won two straight NBA
Photo of the Day: Jodie Meeks Is No Dumb Athlete
Jodie Meeks has finally earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Kentucky. He spent three years attending UK from 2006-2009. However, three years isn’t typically enough time to earn a degree, especially for student athletes. They spend most of their time at practices, traveling for tournaments and games, generally missing a lot of class time. For most athletes who turn pro, completing their degree isn’t something that’s too high on their list of things to do once they’re being paid
SH Blog: LeBron Calls Cavs “Fragile”, Anthony Davis Explodes for Career-High 43 Points
It’s been a tumultuous week for the Cleveland Cavaliers. After a solid four-game win streak against teams like the New Orleans Pelicans and Atlanta Hawks, the script has been flipped in Northeast Ohio. The Cavs are now on a four-game losing streak. An ugly losing streak. At times, we’ve seen glimpses of the brilliance of coach David Blatt’s offense. Unfortunately, at the same time, we’ve seen a nonexistent defense and a let’s-stand-around-and-watch-someone-dribble offense. [Read more…]
Photo of the Day: Nate Robinson Has Ugly Feet
Nate Robinson should start being a weekly feature on our Photo of the Day. He is very active on Instagram with his pictures and he posts all kinds of fun things. Check out his last feature on POTD. Brace face Robinson is a happy-go-lucky journeyman who’s played all over the NBA, from East to West coast, since being drafted by the Phoenix Suns in 2005. Of course his first four plus seasons in the league were in New York for the
Photo of the Day: The Spurs’ Toga Party
Okay, so the photo isn’t exactly a toga party, but it’s close enough. The San Antonio Spurs are represented in a commercial that aired on Wednesday, dressed in toga clothes. Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobli, Tony Parker, Patty Mills and Kawhi Leonard, as well as the Spurs mascot The Coyote, all appeared in the commercial for H-E-B Greek Yogurt. As you can imagine, the commercial is quite hilarious. [Read more…]
Photo of the Day: Raptors Pay Tribute to Vince Carter
Vince Carter put the Toronto Raptors on the map. For a young franchise in the NBA playing outside the United States, you can see why “Air Canada” meant so much to the city and to the Raptors organization. They don’t garner much interest from big free agents, having to build their roster through the draft, which has been a problem facing Toronto since its inception into the league. Then Vince Carter changed all that. He made the Raptors exciting, using his
