Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard has paired up with Adidas for his first signature shoe, the D Lillard 1. Lillard is playing only his third year in the league, but is already becoming one of the premiere point guards. The sixth-overall pick in the 2012 draft out of Weber State, he’s averaging a career-high 22.2 points per game while dishing out 6.3 assists and grabbing 4.8 rebounds this season. [Read more…]
Photo of the Day: Spurs and Mr. President
The San Antonio Spurs won their fifth title last year when they routed the Miami Heat in five games. It was the fifth time that Gregg Popovich and Tim Duncan visited the President at the White House. The first time they did, Bill Clinton was in office. So overall, Duncan and Pop have met and have photographs with the last three Presidents of the United States. That’s pretty awesome if you ask me. SH Blog: LeBron Could Return Tuesday, Kevin Love Will Wait to Sign Long-Term
Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James has missed the team’s past nine games, including their complete meltdown against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday evening that dropped them to 19-19 on the season. The final score was 103-84, but was surely over well before the final quarter. James has been sidelined with lingering knee and back issues, and was supposed to miss about two weeks with the ailments. Before the Cavs played the Kings on Sunday however, he was spotted at shoot around
Photo of the Day: Jeff Green Reflects on Heart Surgery
Boston Celtics forward Jeff Green posted a photo on Friday, celebrating his “second birthday”. I’m sure you’re wondering what he means by that, and that’s what I’m here to tell you. In December of 2011 after a routine physical, doctors discovered an aortic aneurysm. After discussing the options, Green and the Boston Celtics decided it best to have surgery on his heart and fix the condition completely. [Read more…]
Photo of the Day: Bulls Visit the White House
The Chicago Bulls took a nice trip through the White House on Thursday on their day off. The team is in Washington, D.C. for their road game on Friday against the Wizards. I don’t know much about politics or the White House, but it looks like a few of them could stay behind and would fit right in with Mr. Obama and his staff. [Read more…]
Photo of the Day: Rick Ross Is a True Heat Fan
Rapper Rick Ross is from Miami, so of course he’s a Heat fan. Not only that, he might be their single greatest fan in the entire world. You’re probably wondering why, and that’s what this Photo of the Day is here for. Ross decided he would get something that (hopefully) no one else has on their face: a Miami Heat tattoo. I understand if you’ve got a tattoo to support your favorite sports team, but your face? Never in a million
Photo of the Day: Smith and Shumpert Thank Fans and Knicks
The three-team blockbuster trade involving the Cleveland Cavaliers, Oklahoma City Thunder and New York Knicks has been made official, after initial reports of the trade on Monday evening. Now that it’s gone through, the players involved had some things to say to their now former teams before they left town. Dion Waiters, J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert each showed respect for the franchises after they were traded. [Read more…]
Photo of the Day: Diggin’ For Gold
I had originally had another photo picked out for the day, but when I saw this picture I had to use it. Indiana Pacers forward Damjan Rudez had a little extra curricular activity going on on the bench against the Utah Jazz. By that, I mean he was going searching for something. Not on the bench or anything basketball related. He went digging for something much more valuable than that. [Read more…]
