I hate crowing to the world wide web, but I told you so. Yesterday I predicted the Oklahoma City Thunder would snap the San Antonio Spurs 19-game winning streak, lo and behold they did. Maybe Tony Parker is to blame for the loss, he’s surely who I’m blaming on my DraftStreet fantasy team. Last night I picked up the Spurs PG for only $10,938 and now I know why. Here’s his dreadful stat line: six points, four rebounds, three assists
DraftStreet Fantasy Spin: Thursday, April 3, 2014
At one point last night I thought I would win $1,000 in DraftStreet’s NBA Fantasy League. That didn’t happen for several reasons. Anthony Davis, my most expensive player, left the game early with back spasms. Arron Afflalo couldn’t put the ball in the ocean while playing against the measly defense of the Cleveland Cavs. Besides that, all of my other picks performed well. Today I quickly threw a roster together and will probably make tweaks throughout the day. I contemplated
DraftStreet Fantasy Spin: Wednesday, April 2, 2014
Paul Pierce killed my DraftStreet.com fantasy team last night. Just when I thought I found someone special for cheap ($11,277) he turns his play around and stabbed me in the back. But I’m a sucker for punishment and I’m using PP again tonight. Last night at DraftStreet I fared pretty well but didn’t make any money. I was in the top 20% in a few of my pools and if Pierce would’ve showed up I probably would have won some
DraftStreet Fantasy Spin: Tuesday, April 1, 2014
Last night I played in several leagues and came up empty. For some reason I put my faith in Greg Stiemsma (never again) and he didn’t even grab a rebound. Joakim Noah and LeBron James did well for me, gathering over 80 fantasy points between them. I bought Reggie Evans from Sacramento for only $6,998 and he did work. With 12 rebounds he ended up being one of my more successful players from Monday. To begin the month of April
DraftStreet Fantasy Spin: Monday, March 31, 2014
Fresh off giving away $150,000, DraftStreet is running satellites for yet another $100,000 contest. Look for them in the NBA lobby for a chance to win a voucher to the NBA $100K Playoffs Big Score and a $20,000 first place prize. This one starts on April 19 and finishes on April 20, the two-day format being a wrinkle common to NBA playoff leagues. If you don’t have a DraftStreet account, you can sign up using this link. Tweet of the Day: Kevin Love, Russell Westbrook Among NBA Athletes Cheering For Their College Teams
One of the busiest weeks in a basketball fan’s year is underway. Bracket Week always keeps avid followers on their toes as they try to keep up with all the action leading up to Selection Sunday, which takes place tomorrow. Typically Saturday is a quiet day for basketball, but with the N.C.A.A. schedule heating up, today was anything but quiet. NBA players who had some time off were cheering on their former schools. @UCLAMBB let's go!!!!!! — Kevin Love (@kevinlove) March 15, 2014 RT
Tweet of the Day: Pau Gasol Praises Jodie Meeks
It was a day of surprises in the NBA. The Chicago Bulls beat a healthy Miami Heat team, the Oklahoma City Thunder fell to the Los Angeles Lakers but most surprising of all: Jodie Meeks scored 42. Yes, you read that correctly. The Lakers guard made 11-of-18 field goals and was red-hot from the free-throw line, hitting all 14 of his attempts. Somewhere near the bottom of all the game reports will be mention of Kevin Durant, he had a pretty good game,
Tweet of the Day: Damian Lillard Takes Note of Andrew Wiggins 41-Point Game
Not every day a college freshman scores 41 points, actually, it’s only been done twice in the past 18 years. If any kid is going to amaze, it’s Andrew Wiggins. On Saturday Wiggins lit up the West Virginia Mountaineers with 41 points in a losing effort that saw his Kansas Jayhawks falling 92-86. The 41 points are impressive, but how he did it is even better. On only 17 shots he somehow managed to score nearly half of his team’s points. Portland Trail Blazers
