If anybody has credibility to his word, it’s Larry Bird. He won championships, he’s one of the best players of all time, and he knows what he’s talking about. This is not Lance Stephenson making a choke reference. This is not Metta World Peace making a silly comment. This is Larry Bird. That being said, I can put my money that the Pacers are without question playing soft. And if this doesn’t motivate them to play their butts off,
I personally believe the Celtics are going to the finals. I never thought I would say it, but right around the time that Chris Bosh got hurt I came to that conclusion. Rondo is a top point guard, and the Big 3 (Garnett, Pierce, Allen) still have plenty left in the tank. That being said, the key to their success WILL be Brandon Bass. He is a solid scorer and rebounder, and brings a solid low post presence that
Can’t deny it. The Clippers simply cannot run with the Spurs right now. Griffin and Paul are not healthy, and the Spurs still look like the best team in the NBA. They have productive players up and down the roster, they are well-coached, and know how to play basketball. The Clippers are dead in the water, so I expect the Thunder and Spurs to have a dogfight in the Western Finals. Granted, I have the Spurs advancing past the
I’m not making a bold statement here: If your not a Miami heat fan, your probably rooting for the Pacers. And by probably, I mean about 80% of the time. The Heat have truly taken on the “villain” role in the NBA, the team to beat. As I write this, the Heat are down 81-67 with 5:48 to go. Roy Hibbert is embarrassing the Heat with 18 boards and 16 point, and Mario Chalmers is the only player producing
Really, Dwayne? Th Heat have mastered excessive celebration, and now they want to complain about somebody else? Let’s take this Pacers win into context: They beat the Heat in Miami, no easy task; they tied the series 1-1, a series in which many people counted them out of; the Heat are now 0-1 in the playoffs without Chris Bosh. How much will the Heat miss Bosh? Only time will tell, but I do not like the early indications.
You know what’s a scary thought? The Heat may win the East with just LeBron James and Dwayne Wade. They literally don’t need anybody else. I mean yes, Chalmers is a nice scoring option, Battier plays good defense, and guys like Haslem and Joel Anthony have been serviceable down low. But let’s be honest, you could place LeBron and Wade on the Bobcats, and they would still put up a massive fight for the best team in the East.
Talk about no remorse. The match-up between Harden and World Peace is shaping out to be the most anticipated one in the series, possibly even outshining Kobe, Durant, etc. It’s not that I expect them to break out and score 30 a piece; James Harden has the potential to do so, but it still remains highly unlikely. But knowing a fight could break out between them at any moment (or at least a hard shove or physical gesture of
Game 7. There’s no comparison. Winner goes on, losers go home. This weekend we have two: Lakers-Nuggets, Clippers-Grizzlies.Personally, I like the Lakers to finish off the Nuggets, riding on the heels of 35+ from Kobe. On the other hand, I have a feeling the Grizzlies are going to pull out Game 7 at home, followed by a roar of cheers from their home crowd. It will be an exciting weekend for basketball, so enjoy!
