NEW YORK — The draft lottery is tonight, and here is a primer on everything you need to know as we all wait to find out who will get the right to choose Anthony Davis of Kentucky with the No. 1 overall pick. We’ll do it in the form of Top 10 list, for two reasons: People love Top 10 lists (thank you, David Letterman), and if you really need to know more than 10 things about the lottery, we kindly
Sheridan: Celtics, Thunder not done but have big tasks ahead
// After hanging around for a half, the Boston Celtics disappeared in the second half of their Eastern Conference finals opener vs. the Miami Heat. Before we vault Miami into the NBA Finals, however, let’s remember that the Celtics have had some stinkers in each of their first two playoff rounds and have bounced back rather nicely. The Celtics have the experience and character to get back in their series with the Heat, but there are a number of things
Odds of Celtics winning the title are 12-1
I told this story last week, and it is worth re-telling for those of you who may have missed it. I have a publicist colleague, Jimmy Shapiro, who once tried to get a sponsor to pay my $10,000 buy-in for the main event at the World Series of Poker. I was going to write about in for their online blog. He came very close, but ultimately couldn’t get the 10K. But
Five Factors for Celtics-Heat: How The East Will be Won
The Boston Celtics have staggered into the Eastern Conference finals for the third time in five years, their “Big Three” era so close to complete that the moniker is outdated. Jackson likely would have been interested, as you can discern from reading this Mark Heisler
Sheridan: Second-guessing Frank Vogel
// Frank Vogel made a major mistake last night, IMHO. I compliment him for everything he has accomplished this season, I admire his youthful enthusiasm, but I question his wisdom today — the day after Indiana’s season ended in a Game 6 loss at home in which the Pacers never fully took advantage of the big-man advantage they had with Udonis Haslem out serving a one-game suspension. With exactly 3 minutes left in the first quarter, Vogel subbed out David West,
Spurs are 75-1 to go 16-0 in the playoffs
