That’s it, Adam? Donald Sterling has agreed to miss one game? And you didn’t say anything negative about him? Damn. I guess David Stern spoiled us. The old commissioner would never have delivered such a vanilla series of statements in reacting to one of the biggest scandals the NBA has seen in years. Let me get this straight: We have an owner (allegedly) making statements that he doesn’t want his girlfriend to bring black people to Clippers games, and he doesn’t want her to
Nene Suspended One Game for Head-Butting Butler
Washington Wizards forward-center Nene has been suspended one game without pay for head-butting and grabbing Jimmy Butler of the Chicago Bulls around the neck with both hands and attempting to throw him down, it was announced today by Rod Thorn, the NBA’s President of Basketball Operations. The incident, in which Nene received two technical fouls and was ejected from the game, occurred with 8:28 remaining in the fourth quarter of the Wizards’ 100-97 loss to the visiting Chicago Bulls last night at Verizon Center. Nene will serve his suspension tomorrow when the Wizards host Chicago. To view the play, click on this link.
DraftStreet Fantasy Spin, April 26, 2014: All-in on Luis Scola
Click on this banner to sign up for DraftStreet’s two-day NBA playoff fantasy leagues So my first week as the fill-in fantasy writer is getting better. Two of my six teams in the Thursday-Friday contests finished in the money, and a third just missed. Furthermore, I have two teams in the $11 entry league for Friday-Saturday that are performing well. Unfortunately, or maybe not, one of those teams has Kendrick Perkins on it. Why do I say maybe not? Because
PODCAST: Time for Luis Scola to Start Over Roy Hibbert
At a certain point, the Indiana Pacers need to give up on Roy Hibbert as their starting center. That point is now. The All-Star center (can you believe we have to call him that?) laid another egg Thursday night in the Atlanta-Indiana series, shooting 2-for-9 with just two rebounds, none on the offensive end, in the Pacers 98-85 defeat as they fell behind 2-1 in the best-of-7 series. If you look at Hibbert’s game log, it is both stunning and atrocious. The 7-foot-2
PODCAST: Why is Phil Jackson Playing Chicken with Carmelo Anthony in New York?
What is Phil Jackson trying to accomplish by playing a game of chicken with Carmelo Anthony? Maybe, just maybe, he is trying to run him out of New York. The new Knicks president had a lot to say about Carmelo in a meeting with reporters on Wednesday, and the most telling thing he said was that he hoped Anthony would stay true to his word and accept less than max money when the sides sit down to discuss a new contract
Draft Street Fantasy Spin, April 25, 2014
I gave you the head’s up on Luis Scola, and I hope you put him into play with some good players. And after the latest no show from Roy Hibbert, I advise you to double down on the big Argentinian for Game 4. He might just move into the starting lineup. Indiana needs a boost from someone now that they trail the Atlanta Hawks 2-1 in their best-of-7 series, and Scola is available at the bargain basement price of $7,333. He

Click on this banner to sign up for DraftStreet’s two-day NBA playoff fantasy leagues Tonight we have a quandary. There are six games from which to choose players, so there needs to be a strategy that accounts for so many choices. So today, I will make like the fantasy player “youdacao” — a player I see on the leaderboards almost every single night. I don’t know how much money “youdacao” puts into play on DraftStreet each night, but it
