Via Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports: Chicago is finalizing deal to send Marquis Teague to the Brooklyn Nets for forward Toko Shengelia, league sources tell Yahoo Sports. — Adrian Wojnarowski (@WojYahooNBA) January 18, 2014 Both players have spent time in the D-League this season. Teague was buried in the Bulls’ PG pecking order even with Derrick Rose out for the season, and didn’t help matters by shooting 24.2% from the field in limited playing time. He could be in line to scrape out a

It’s been an eventful few days in the NBA. First, the Warriors got better and the Celtics got worse, which seems like a win-win. Then Greg Oden played in an NBA game, which makes me pretty dang happy. [Read more…]

At what point does public acknowledgement of mistakes stop being enough? It drew a lot of attention when Paul George was fouled on the final shot in a huge Indiana-Miami game and it wasn’t called. The latest one, featuring Monta Ellis grabbing both of Austin Rivers’ arms, was far more egregious, and the NBA has admitted it was the wrong call. [Read more…]

I’m always a little bit disappointed that I’m not a professional basketball player, but air travel takes it to a whole new level. I originally booked a two-part flight to Halifax on Monday, and ended up having to leave Sunday night and sleep in the Philadelphia airport after my first flight was cancelled. That was fine, until my flight the next afternoon had to turn around and go back to Philadelphia when we were right over Halifax. [Read more…]

If you haven’t been watching Golden State basketball recently, why? Seriously, why? They’re just as fun to watch as they were last year, only now they play defense as well (fourth in defensive efficiency). They just knocked off two of the East’s three decent teams in the space of two nights. The Blazers have made the West a little more crowded at the top, but Steph Curry and Co. are showing that they belong right up there with those top teams.

Watching the NBA games on Christmas, my brother turned to me and asked why the teams were all dressed like that. I told him that the NBA does special uniforms on Christmas, and the sleeves are so people can buy them as shirts and the NBA makes more money. He responded: “okay, but why the big logos?” I didn’t have an answer. I still don’t. All I can think is they were trying to copy the Warriors’ design. That got me thinking: are

The Andrew Bynum news is dominating the NBA today. Of course, this big news would break on a day I spent a good portion of in the car, driving from my grandparents’ place in New York to my parents’ house in Baltimore. So if you, like me, are still playing catch-up, here’s the basics: The Cavs suspended Bynum indefinitely for “conduct detrimental to the team” and it looks like he’s played his last game for Cleveland. There’s murmurs that Bynum just flat
Wade and Griffin named Players of the Week
The Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade and the Los Angeles Clippers’ Blake Griffin today were named NBA Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, Dec. 16, through Sunday, Dec. 22. Wade averaged 26.3 points (fourth in the Eastern Conference) while leading the Heat to a 3-0 week. He scored at least 20 points, shot at least .560 from the floor, and led Miami in scoring in all three games. On Dec. 18, Wade tallied a season-high
