Monday was a happy day for some, ominous for many others. Some big news broke early in the day about the status of Derrick Rose and Kobe Bryant. The news on Rose was worse than expected, while some may consider the good news for Bryant not so good. See what all the ruckus was about below. DERRICK ROSE OUT FOR THE SEASON: After undergoing successful knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus, the Chicago Bulls declared that Rose would miss the remainder of
Tweet of the Night: Bill Simmons says Bradley Beal could miss extended time after re-aggravating leg injury from rookie year
Bad news has been mounting over the past few days in the NBA with significant injuries to various important players around the league – some more serious than others. Of course, nothing was more devastating than when Derrick Rose tore the meniscus in his right knee over the weekend. He had successful surgery, but will miss the remainder of the season. Unfortunately, the bad news appears to be rolling right along. Bill Simmons of Grantland reported on Monday night that Washington Wizards
NBA players react to Derrick Rose’s knee injury
Derrick Rose took the entire 2012-2013 season off to get himself right from the surgery on his left knee after suffering a torn ACL in the playoffs in 2012. After showing much promise this preseason with what appeared to be an improved jump shot and a better ability to attack the basket, the point guard struggled mightily when the regular season came around. Through nine games, Rose has averaged 15.4 points on just 35.9 percent shooting, with 4.4 assists and 3.3 turnovers.
Tweet of the Night: Robert Pera explains what may have gotten Zach Randolph going against David Lee
Whenever Zach Randolph goes up against his former backup in David Lee (they played together in New York), his eyes tend to light up. Randolph has compiled a career average of 20.8 points and 11.3 rebounds whenever facing Lee, with an overall record of 12-2. The two losses

The former player and current ESPN analyst believes Kemba Walker of the Charlotte Bobcats pulled the same move against Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams on Wednesday. Williams, who has had some tough luck with ankle injuries so far this season, sprained his ankle again after stepping
SH Blog: Celtics may be interested in deal for Stoudemire, Carter calls Howard a crybaby during contest
STORY OF THE DAY: Boston Celtics quickly ended the notion that they would be interested in dealing Rajon Rondo to the New York Knicks, but they may be willing to deal others to acquire Amare Stoudemire. Jared Zwerling of Bleacher Report has details: But even if it’s not Rondo, the Celtics are still attractive for the potential of a big man swap, and according to a source close to Gang Green, they might be willing to take on what basically no other
Tweet of the Night: David Lee finds great irony in Stephen Curry’s mild concussion
Stephen Curry suffered a mild concussion on Monday after Marvin Williams inadvertently fell on top of Curry’s head. As a result, the point guard will miss Wednesday’s anticipated matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies, a team the Golden State Warriors haven’t beaten since Nov. 3, 2010. With both Curry and Toney Douglas out, the Warriors may be forced to play Andre Iguodala at the point. Third stringer rookie Nemanja Nedovic may be another option for the team. The absence of Curry means he
