Even after a winning night, it’s hard not to think of what might have been. Scoring a personal-best 337 points, I finished ninth out of 1,769 entries in the DFBBC qualifier, good for a $75 consolation prize but awfully damn close to a trip to Las Vegas for the live final in March. Tonight’s big event is a qualifying tournament for the $200,000 Daily Fantasy Basketball Championship. Each week you can win one of 15 trips to Las Vegas for the live DFBBC final in March 2013, where the winner gets $50,000 in cash and even last place is worth $1,500. My team struggled in 69th among the 167 entries, as bargain picks Alexey Shved and Moe Harkless were disappointing. Down $16 now from the original $100 bankroll in Week 4, I’ll have to wait for tomorrow to get even, as there are no NBA games tonight.
