Mike Bantom, the NBA’s Executive Vice President of Referee Operations, is cracking down on a very specific point of contention. The issue at hand? Verticality. Secondary defenders are permitted to challenge an oncoming offensive player so long as they stay “vertical.” However, according to a memorandum sent to all owners, general managers, coaches and officials over the weekend, there has been a noticeable increase of players bending, if not breaking, the rule. We have noticed that defenders have been turning sideways when jumping to
Tweet of the Day: Frank Vogel Reassigned, Larry Bird To Coach Pacers
Tuesday, not just any normal day, nor the typical Tuesday. This is April 1st, otherwise known as April Fool’s Day—the day renowned for pranks. Amid many breaking news stories, like Tiger Woods undergoing microdiscectomy for a pinched nerve in his back, Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon opted to lead their show, Pardon the Interruption, with a shocking revelation for the Indiana Pacers. The news? Due to the Pacers recent swoon, head coach Frank Vogel had been reassigned within the organization and team president Larry Bird

Tweet of the Night: NBA Game Time Crew Gets Down On Diesel’s Dunks
A great many people in this world dislike, perhaps even loathe, their jobs. Some people enjoy their jobs; some enjoy them a little too much. Around the NBA, the latter is far too common—especially among those who work for NBA Game Time on NBA TV. In anticipation for Diesel’s Dunks, the top-10 dunks of the week segment, hosts Shaquille O’Neal, Dennis Scott and Vince Cellini seemed to be having a blast off camera—as can be seen from their Instagram videos. Tweet of the Day: Evan Fournier Takes Shaqtin’ Joke in Stride
It’s not easy being openly clowned in a very public forum. However, such is the life for NBA athletes who fail in magnificent ways, as they fall prey to Shaqtin’ A Fool, a top-5 video showcase of weekly NBA bloopers compiled by the guys on Inside the NBA on TNT with commentary provided by Shaquille O’Neal himself. O’Neal is known for his sense of humor and is frequently given to clowning and/or pranking others—all in good fun, mind you. He and the producers
Tweet of the Night: Los Angeles Lakers Scorch The New York Knicks, Twitter Reacts
Tuesday night’s showdown between the Knicks and Lakers was a bit one-sided. The New York Knicks, who had been surging towards the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference with a recent string of eight straight wins, have (seemingly) fallen flat on their faces. If their recent fourth-quarter collapse against the hapless (and Kyrie Irving-less) Cleveland Cavaliers wasn’t bad enough, they travelled to Los Angeles for a shellacking at the hands of the short-handed Lakers. The induction ceremony, which will be held in November, will also see Zelmo Beaty, an NAIA star at Prairie View A&M. Additionally, two head coaches LSU’s Dale Brown and Maryland’s Gary Williams—both of whom reached the Final
Tweet of the Day: NBA Prospect Joel Embiid Contemplates Kansas’ Loss
The South Region No. 2 Seed Kansas Jayhawks suffered a frustrating loss at the hands of the Stanford Cardinal in the third round of the NCAA Tournament, falling 57-60. The Rock Chalk, Jayhawk faithful were disappointed to witness star freshman Andrew Wiggins fall short of expectations. Hoisting a mere six shots and making only one, he finished the contest with a dismal four points. The Stanford Cardinal out-rebounded Kansas 37-35, which may not be terrible, however they also outscored the Jayhawks 30-20
