Nearly every game was tightly contested, and all of them saw 200+ points scored. That meant the starters played major minutes and accumulated excellent fantasy numbers. Golden State held off a hungry Pelicans squad for a one-point win. The Nets almost blew a double-digit lead with minutes remaining, holding on for a 102-100 victory. The Wizards out gunned the Lakers 116-111 to defend their home court, as John Wall/WAS showed why he might be the most exciting player in the

I predicted a Timberwolves upset over the Pacers, but it was not to be. Paul George/IND and George Hill/IND were brilliant and a suffocating Indiana defense effectively cut off the Wolves’ outside shooting. It’s tough to win in the modern game if you can’t reliably make threes. Elsewhere , the Spurs and Pistons had no trouble with the Pelicans and Bucks respectively, while the Jazz came through with an overtime win over the visiting Bulls (visions of contention in Chicago

We witnessed two world class blowouts yesterday, as the Chicago Bulls and the Utah Jazz were no match for the Los Angeles Clippers and the Oklahoma City Thunder respectively. The tightest game featured the visiting Suns ousting a determined Orlando Magic. The Pistons had too much talent for the Nets to handle, and the Kings’ lack of outside shooting doomed them against the Lakers. Tonight, there are nine games on the NBA schedule. Here is today’s Fantasy Spin. [Read more…]

Stephen Curry/GSW returned, but Portland rolled right over Golden State to continue their winning streak. LaMarcus Aldridge/POR had a career game to lead the way. Philadelphia kept things interesting in Indiana, until a lack of effective outside shooting doomed them. The Rockets didn’t feel the absence of James Harden/HOU very much, as they marched to an easy win over the Timberwolves. The Heat had to fight tooth and nail to hold off the improving Magic, while the Milwaukee Bucks were

The anticipated collision between the Spurs and Grizzlies fizzled when Marc Gasol/MEM left early with a knee injury. The Sixers showed their moxie with a comeback overtime win over the Bucks. The Pacers ground down the Celtics and the Raptors overcame John Wall’s/WAS third quarter heroics to register wins. The Lakers’ depth was too much for a weakened Golden State team. That was last night. Here is today’s Fantasy Spin. [Read more…]
Fantasy Spin: Friday, November 22, 2013
In the first of two games last night, Kevin Durant/OKC led the Thunder to a home win over the tired Clippers. In the nightcap, the Bulls couldn’t find their shooting range from outside and the Nuggets survived a mediocre performance from Ty Lawson/DEN to win a halfcourt oriented game over Chicago. There are 11 games on the NBA schedule tonight, which means lots of interesting choices for our NBA fantasy lineups to be made. Here is today’s Fantasy Spin. [Read
Fantasy Spin: Thursday, November 21, 2013
As expected, most of the games last night were tightly contested. The exception was the Heat’s relatively easy victory over the Orlando Magic. The audience witnessed the first NBA start for Victor Oladipo/ORL, and saw the best and worst of him. The rookie filled the stat sheet, but also turned the ball over far too many times to be a successful point guard. In the nightcap, the Grizzlies prevailed in overtime over the Curry-less Warriors. Here is today’s Fantasy Spin.
Fantasy Spin: Wednesday, November 20, 2013
The Sacramento Kings took advantage of the absence of Eric Bledsoe/PHO and rallied late in the fourth quarter to beat the visiting Suns. It was a key win after the demolition suffered at the hands of the Grizzlies in their last home game, during which most of the starters were benched. The Heat and the Rockets easily handled the visiting Hawks and Celtics respectively. Their star players’ minutes were reduced, much to the chagrin of fantasy players counting on the
