If you watched the Blazers and Thunder battle you saw some highly entertaining basketball. Two superstars exchanged blows, with a pair of Kevin Durant/OKC dagger-like three pointers putting the game away. Elsewhere, the Nets continued to roll and the Heat gutted out a narrow win over a stubborn Celtics bunch. There are ten games on the NBA schedule tonight and DraftStreet has an assortment of contests for all tastes. The Sheridan Hoops DraftStreet Freeroll returns this Friday – you can

It was quite a feast of basketball on Martin Luther King Day. Beginning with the Clippers’ methodical win over the Pistons and ending with the Pacers solid performance against the Warriors, there was no lack of entertaining hoops . The Houston Rockets showed what they were capable of in beating the Blazers without one of their stars ( Terrence Jones/HOU). The most exciting game of the day was the Lakers-Bulls battle. Featuring contrasting styles, the game see-sawed from beginning to

The new look Lakers are short on talent but long on hunger – they pulled another road win out of the fire in Toronto. In San Antonio, the reserves had a great day and the Spurs coasted to an easy win over the sad sack Buck. Kevin Durant/OKC was brilliant and the supporting cast was solid, again, as the Thunder held off the Kings. Today features a score of afternoon games on this holiday Monday, as well as a few

It was the night of the blowout around the NBA, so much so that Indiana’s comprehensive 106-92 win over the Clippers was a close game, relatively speaking. The Sixers had difficult making the three-point shot and the Bulls mesmerized them with ball movement, winning 103-78. The Jazz were ice cold in the first half and the Timberwolves coasted in the second half to a 98-72 win. And topping it off was the most unexpected blowout – the Blazers’ demolition of

The feature game of the night was Portland at San Antonio, a battle for the top spot in the Western Conference pecking order. The Blazers have been a tremendous road team this season and their star players, LaMarcus Aldridge/POR and Damian Lillard/POR, carried them to victory. Great individual performances abounded, headlined by Kevin Durant’s/OKC remarkable game against the Warriors. Blake Griffin/LAC, Stephen Curry/GSW, Carmelo Anthony/NYK and Al Jefferson/CHA were no slouches either. While the Saturday night schedule is a bit

The Thunder-Rockets game was borderline ridiculous. After scoring 73 points in the first half, the Rockets totaled only 19 (!) in the second half and lost 104-92 to the Thunder. That kind of thing is not supposed to happen in the NBA. Reggie Jackson/OKC and Serge Ibaka/OKC stepped up to support Kevin Durant/OKC in the second half. The Nets and Hawks played an up tempo game in London, with the Nets pulling away for an easy win. The Knicks started

The top story of the day was undoubtedly the first half swoon by the Miami Heat. The Wizards blitzed them to build a 30+ point lead before the Heat rallied to cut it to 21 by half time. That deficit was too large to overcome and the Heat lost 114-97 to continue one of their worst stretches of recent years. The Raptors were cooled off by Jared Sullinger/BOS and the Celtics as Boston utilized a bit of “post-trade” magic. Both

The Knicks battled the Bobcats until fading in the final minutes. The Kings were cooled off by the Pacers in a surprisingly high scoring game in Indiana. DeMarcus Cousins/SAC didn’t get much help from his teammates while Paul George/IND poured in 31 points. Despite an injury Kevin Durant/OKC played 41 minutes and scored 37, but he didn’t get enough support and the Thunder fell to the Grizzlies. The Cavaliers and Lakers lit up the scoreboard, with Cleveland narrowly winning 120-118.
