The surprising Milwaukee (young) Bucks have already surpassed their entire win totals from all of last year just 32 games into the 2014-15 season. In a weak Eastern Conference, they’re now holding the sixth seed with a record of 16-16. They won all of 15 games last year, and were a team that seemed lost. That all seems to be changing now, and with a good crop of young players and talent, Jason Kidd and company are trying to right the
Sprung: Deron Williams accepts Nets bench role, for now
Nets point guard Deron Williams is being paid $19,754,465 this season. That’s just over $240,908 a game and $60,227 a quarter. After a strong start to the season, Williams had a bad December hindered by a calf injury and was supplanted in the starting lineup by Jarrett Jack. Jack has thrived in his new role as a starter for Brooklyn, which has won four of five. With head coach Lionel Hollins all but saying that Jack will be the starter for the forseeable future, Williams
Photo of the Day: NBA TV Hosts Getting Weird
NBA TV hosts Dennis Scott and Brent Barry seem to have a good time while they’re on set. Actually, we know they have a good time because they have an awesome job. How could you not enjoy that? Dennis Scott, the former Orlando Magic guard, is always posting pictures of himself and his colleagues from the set of the show. Monday was no different, and the photos were pretty entertaining. Bernucca: “They’re the Spurs” Might Not Be Enough This Season
Every time someone summons up the nerve to ask, “What’s wrong with the Spurs?” the defending NBA champions have provided an emphatic response: Nothing. They did it in November, beating the Clippers and Warriors on the road on consecutive nights after losses to Houston and New Orleans. They did it again in December, beating the Clippers to end a four-game losing streak that included back-to-back excruciating triple-overtime losses. And they did it again last night, beating the Rockets for the first time

Detroit went on to set a franchise record for three pointers made in a game in the 103-80 victory. They knocked down 17 of their 31 attempts from deep, a ridiculous 55% shooting. [Read more…]

After seeing this picture on Friday, I decided I had to use it. I know it goes off of Christmas again and I’m sorry, but I think you’ll all enjoy this when you check it out. The photo was posted by Andre Iguodala of the Golden State Warriors to his Instagram and seemed like he was really excited about it. Honestly, how can you not be excited about this gift? [Read more…]
Sprung: The Truth on Pierce: Passive Aggressive Leadership
When Paul Pierce signed with the Washington Wizards on July 11, it seemed like Washington downgraded from Trevor Ariza, who departed to Houston. Two months into the season, it’s time for a fresh look. In our own free agency tracker, there were not kind words for the aging Pierce. “And while this may seem like a fine consolation prize for Ernie Grunfeld and Randy Wittman, anybody in Boston or Brooklyn who has been watching Pierce closely for the past two years
Photo of the Day: Merry Christmas!
The day is finally here. It’s Christmas time for those who recognize the holiday. It means family, friends, food and, of course, basketball. I’m sure you were like me this morning and throughout the day. Got up and did the whole opening of presents, then got ready to go to your relatives to see your loved ones and have an amazing Christmas. [Read more…]
