Things got tense between the Los Angeles Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday when Blake Griffin and Serge Ibaka got tangled up near the end of the second quarter. After getting fouled by Ibaka on a shot attempt near the rim, Griffin got a hold of Ibaka’s arm and held on tight. The natural reaction by Ibaka was to set himself free from the hold, but it appeared as if he had shoved Griffin from the back in the process.
Tweet of the Day: NY Knicks’ Iman Shumpert Involved In Trade Rumor
Just weeks into the 2013-14 NBA season and the New York Knicks and the New York media are already embroiled in a swirl of trade rumors. Wednesday, as the Knicks prepare to face off with the Atlanta Hawks in Philips Arena, the New York Daily News’ Frank Isola began reporting that New York was discussing moving guard Iman Shumpert to Denver in exchange for the Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried. NBA players react to Jabari Parker and Andrew Wiggins’ first game against each other
It was a big night for college basketball and general managers around the NBA, as Jabari Parker and Andrew Wiggins – two of the biggest prizes for the upcoming summer’s draft – went head to head against each other in a much anticipated contest between Kansas and Duke on Tuesday. With expectations sky high, the two made sure no one left disappointed. Parker scored 19 points in the first half, including this impressive dunk, to capture much of the attention and finished
Tweet of the Day: Happy Birthday To Three Moms
Everyone has a mother. Unless you were constructed by scientists in a lab or birthed in a pod to provide electricity for the machines, you have a mother. And, for the most part, every mom is loved. Sure, there are bad mothers — like those that abandon, neglect, abuse or even kill their children. However, for those of us who were gifted the opportunity to be raised by good mothers, we love them very much. NBA athletes are no different. And, like all
Tweet of the Night: Reggie Miller likes the Hack-A-Howard strategy
When in doubt, Hack-A-Dwight. Dwight Howard’s free throw shooting down the stretch of close games this season is starting to become a serious issue for the Houston Rockets. Of course, this is no surprise. Howard is a career 57.6 percent shooter from the stripe, but has shot below 50 percent over the past two seasons. He struggled once again against the Toronto Raptors on Monday, going four-of-12 from the line to drop to 47 percent on the season – staggeringly bad for

Super typhoon Haiyan ravaged the Philippines over the weekend. As details of its destruction have become global news in the days since its wake, more and more athletes are coming forward to herald the relief cause. It began last week, as Haiyan was first reaching land, when Golden State Warriors forward Harrison Barnes had linked to the American Red Cross’ relief page on his Facebook post, as was mentioned in Friday’s Tweet of the Day. Monday, many more NBA players have come forward
Tweet of the Night: Andre Iguodala Feels At Home
The current NBA standings might not make the 4-3 Golden State Warriors — losers of back-to-back games against the Spurs and Grizzlies — stand out from the bunch, they are prepared for a long season and a deep run in the 2014 playoffs. What’s different between this season and last? [Read more…]
Tweet of the Day: To the Trains of MSG
It appears posting photos and videos of taking public transportation to NBA games in New York is becoming more and more popular. After the San Antonio Spurs thumped the New York Knicks 120-89 at Madison Square Garden on Sunday, Manu Ginobili captured video on his way out of the arena. Ginobili, along with other teammates, left the team locker room and spent several minutes on a journey to the Madison Square Garden train station. This isn’t the first time a player has made
