When will the Milwaukee Bucks become more than just a middle-of-the-pack type team in the Eastern Conference? Over the past 12 years, they have made the playoffs just five times – all brief, first-round exits. Things had not been much better in the four-year Brandon Jennings era when the team made the playoffs twice, including last season with an underwhelming overall record of 38-44. Perhaps recognizing the need to rebuild once again and to change personnel, they let free agent Monta Ellis

Tweet of the Night: J.R. Smith says championship or bust for the Knicks
The New York Knicks, compared to what they have been over the past decade or so, were a wildly successful team last season. They were the second best team in the Eastern Conference and had high hopes heading into the playoffs. Prior to the start of the season, they were written off as an old team that had next to no chance of beating the Miami Heat. Yet, they managed to beat the Heat in three of four regular season games.
Tweet of the Day: Roger Mason Jr. Will Run for President
The state of the National Basketball Players’ Association, as some—like Miami Heat star LeBron James—see it, is in disarray and in need of new leadership. Others, like Jerry Stackhouse—who serves as first vice-president on the executive committee, believe that the committee is making strides to correct things from within. Nevertheless, the end of Derek Fisher’s tenure as union president leaves the committee in need of a new leader. Until only days ago, King James was considering making a run at the union throne.

After an eventful offseason of moves and transactions around the NBA, most teams are just about set for the upcoming season in terms of filling out their rosters. At this particular time, all that leaves us with is an opportunity to break down those moves and predict how each team will do, since league activities don’t officially begin for another six to seven weeks. ESPN did just that, putting out a quick “Summer Forecast” of the teams in the Western Conference
Tweet of the Day: Kendrick Lamar Rap Illicits Vast Response
Monday night Twitter blew up over the Big Sean song “Control” featuring Kendrick Lamar. Though it was Sean’s song, Lamar stole the spotlight spitting venom in two verses meant to put many of Hip Hop’s best rappers on notice while raising the bar of excellence expected of rap MCs. Tuesday, the song was still the subject of many discussions—even among sports circles, garnering TV time in conversation on ESPN’s Numbers Never Lie. The constant hype had to bring about someone’s eventual lyrical response. Enter
