With summer officially over and October right around the corner, the 2015-2016 NBA season is just about ready to kick into gear. That means training camps are about to open up and players around the league are getting themselves ready both physically and mentally for a long season ahead. Before all of that, though, it always kicks off with this: Media Day obligations. Some may find it to be a chore, but plenty enjoy their first day back, take photos and interact with old
Tweet of the Day: Jamal Crawford hints that he’s happy to remain a Clipper
Jamal Crawford’s future has been a subject of much speculation all offseason, with rumors linking the veteran guard to teams including the Knicks, Cavaliers and Heat. But the Clippers never did trade their long-standing sixth man, and he reported to the team for Friday’s Media Day and Saturday’s opening of training camp. Late Friday, Crawford tweeted a cryptic message that seemed to reference his uncertain offseason: [Read more…]
Tweet of the Night: Jason Richardson announces retirement, players react
Once recognized as one of the most explosive dunkers in the NBA, Jason Richardson officially called it quits on Wednesday after 14 seasons in the league at the age of 34. Richardson missed all of the 2013-2014 season and much of the 2012-2013 season due to a serious knee injury and played sparingly in 19 games last season for the Philadelphia 76ers. Despite the unfortunate turns he took in the latter parts of his career, Richardson ends his playing days with terrific overall statistics: 17.1

Tweet of the Night: Eddie A. Johnson reacts to James Harden wearing Air Jordans

Unfortunately, that’s precisely what James Harden did by wearing Air Jordans out in public after signing his mammoth deal with Adidas in August. Not surprisingly, the president of Adidas was less than pleased, according to Darren Rovell of ESPN: [Read more…]
Tweet of the Night: Draymond Green puts fan on blast for incorrectly tagging him in a photo instead of Harrison Barnes
No matter who you are, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green will call you out and put you on blast if you say something about him that is simply not true on twitter. He did so with this fan, who got caught lying, got blasted by Green and subsequently deleted his twitter account. He even did so with yours truly for what may have been an unjust call-out. After seeing one particular fan falsely tag his name in a photo instead of Harrison
Tweet of the Day: Security questions Jeremy Lin at Charlotte’s arena
There’s a strong case to be made that the Charlotte Hornets signing point guard Jeremy Lin to a two-year, $4.3-million deal was one of the better bargain signings of the NBA’s nearly-complete offseason. [Read more…]
