The Clippers, following a win late Tuesday Night, are now up 3-1 in the series. Not to say they are a lock by any means to win the series, it’s worth mentioning that teams up 3-1 win 96% of the time (194-8). So you can say the odds are heavily against the Grizzlies. That being said, Chris Paul vs. Tony Parker might be one of the best point guard match ups I’ve seen in quite some time. Chris Paul
How significant of a loss could this be? The Thunder certainly don’t lack depth down low, with Nick Collison and Nazr Mohammed filling in as serviceable backups. Not to mention, Serge Ibaka is a phenomenal defender, and one in which would be able to guard some of the most elite big men in the game. But Kendrick Perkins’ absence will undoubtedly be felt, and if he misses extended time, it could be crucial down the stretch for the Oklahoma
What an impressive start to the NBA Playoffs for the Oklahoma City Thunder: Sweeping the defending champion Mavericks. The biggest thing I take from this performance was James Harden, who scored 15 of his 29 points in the 4th quarter. The Thunder were down 13 with 9:44 left, but rallied and ended up winning 103-97. Dirk Nowitzki was his usual self, scoring 34 points, but the Mavericks were missing two things this year that really hurt them; Tyson Chandler
Celtics win, and are now up 2-1 in the series. Rajon Rondo was spectacular, posting a triple double, and I still believe they are an absolute lock to win the series. Not only that, but I also stand by the fact that they may very well be the only team in the East that can run with the Heat. I’m rooting for the Celtics in that regard, considering I simply do not want to see the Heat in the
Yes, that’s safe to say. Wish I could have said the same about the Rangers earlier tonight. Anyway, the Grizzlies evened up the series with the LA Clippers, winning 105-98. It was a much needed victory, considering their epic meltdown in the last matchup. This is one of those series where neither team looks significantly better then the other, and I really do expect it to go to 7 games, as the Clippers are a very good team at
A much needed bright spot for the Knicks; Tyson Chandler winning Defensive Player of the Year Honors. He had 45 first place votes (311 points), and was followed by Serge Ibaka who had 41 first-place votes (294 points) and and Dwight Howard, who had 186 points. The award seemed dominated by big men, as Kevin Garnett finished 5th, and I was a bit shocked to not see Shawn Marion in the discussion. Tyson Chandler’s award was much deserved, as
Not the first bold statement Kobe has ever made, but still a respected one. Anyway, Kobe had his game going last night in the Lakers 104-100 win over the Nuggets, with 38 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block. There’s no question how hungry Kobe is for another ring, and if the Lakers continue playing like this, they may be a serious problem in the playoffs. They are without question in the same conversation as the
Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse for the Knicks, Amare Stoudemire apparently sustains a hand/arm injury because he decided to punch a “fire extinguisher” in anger stemming from tonight’s loss to the Heat. Early reports claim he looks to be questionable for game 3-4, as it’s only a laceration, and X-Rays were not necessary. Regardless, the next 24 hours are going to be a circus surrounding Amare and the implosion of the Knicks, and if Amare
