Everybody by now is aware of the amazing comeback of the Clippers by now. It was extremely impressive, even if it was accompanied by the loss of Caron Butler for the rest of the playoffs. (4-6 weeks, broken hand) The more important story, I believe, is that of the Boston Celtics. The Celtics lost Game 1 to the Hawks, and it could have been one had Rajon Rondo not got tossed. On top of that, he now faces possible
The Knicks got blown out (literally) today in Miami, losing 100-67. Sadly enough, the game was worse then the score even showed. Carmelo Anthony did nothing, Novak couldn’t find any space, and the Knicks were just a collective mess. However, regardless of the outcome, I would have held out hope for the Knicks. If they could take Game 2 in Miami, they would be in pretty decent shape, and anything could happen. But with Shumpert out, I pretty much
This seems to be one of those statistics that LeBron James critics would feed off of. However, it is worth mentioning, the only other players other than James himself to win multiple MVP’s and never win a championship are Karl Malone and Steve Nash, two of the all-time greats. We all know James is great, nobody is denying that. But if he does win his third MVP and flunks again in the playoffs, well, there really is no excuse.
Interesting, as this game has had little to no defense whatsoever. Durant has 18 points already (6:18, 2nd Quarter), and the DeMarcus Cousins has 16. The score is 52-47 Kings, but the scoring barrage has at least slowed a bit. They had a combined 75 points in the first quarter, while the Heat-Celtics game had 17 in the first combined. Maybe the Thunder are just taking this game easy and getting ready for the playoffs, so I’m not reading
For anyone who hasn’t seen yet, here’s the video of what Metta World Peace did to James Harden. Although World Peace claimed it was accidental, I’m not too sure how much of that to believe. His elbow was clearly thrown violently, and he followed through with the smash. The issue is do we treat the situation differently because of his track record? This is not the first time World Peace has had his face on sports news for all
In their previous matchup, when Bynum grabbed 30 rebounds as thee Lakers beat the Spurs, I was a bit confused, I must say. How could the Spurs, such a fundamentally sound team, let one player destroy them on the boards like that? Might I add, they also possess debatably the greatest power forward/center of all-time in Tim Duncan, who is still playing at a very high level. I was concerned, to say the least, of whether or not the
Now this will be a game to watch. Following a Lakers win without Kobe Bryant that snapped an 8-game winning streak for the Spurs, they returned to the Staples Center and returned fire, crushing them 112-91. Tony Parker had a field day on Ramon Sessions, scoring 29 points and dishing out 13 assists. The series returns to San Antonio, in a matchup we may very well see in the playoffs. Kobe is finally returning, and everyone knows how much
It truly is a shame of how far the Magic seem to have fallen. Just when the city was given hope with Dwight planning on returning next year, he goes down with an injury and puts his post-season in jeopardy. Let’s face it, the Magic are just not a good team at all without Dwight, and without him in the playoffs, they are going to get mashed. I had high hopes for the Magic, especially considering I reside in
