You know, something tells me Korver could possibly be a big factor for the Bulls down the stretch. He is actually 10-15 from behind the arc the past three games, but 15 of 22 from the field. But when Korver is on, he is one of the best three-point shooters in the NBA. The question with the Bulls is not their defense, which has been great all season. But scoring-wise, after Derrick Rose, their are many question marks. Luol
I don’t know the names that have been thrown around for Coach of the Year, but Vogel seems to me like the favorite. The Pacers have been excellent this year, sitting in third place in the East and only seven and a half games back. I think people recognized that they would be good, but believing they would be this good may not have been a common belief. I’m not sure what kind of noise they can make in
I never thought I would say it, but it seems the Bulls would have been better off in this game WITHOUT Derrick Rose. I understand Rose is the offensive catalyst for this team, and simply his presence makes a difference. But Rose looked hurt all night, and whether it was rust or not, he just did not shoot well at all (1-13 FG). He did dish out 8 assists, but he hurt them more than helped them, and C.J.
One day after I commend the Spurs for their impressive winning streak, they follow-up with a demoralizing loss to the Lakers, who were without Kobe Bryant. This was not demoralizing in a sense that the loss will really affect them. The issue was that the Spurs seemed to have no answer to Andrew Bynum. Bynum grabbed an incredible 30 rebounds, while Tim Duncan was held to only 4. Not only that, but Metta World Peace scored 26 points, shooting
What to make of the Celtics? For one, Rajon Rondo is becoming the best point guard in the league before our eyes, regardless of the fact that he can’t shoot long range or make free throws. Paul Pierce is aging like fine wine, as he dropped 27 points for the Celtics tonight. And if you watched the game, you had to be extremely impressed with Kevin Garnett, who knocked down shot after shot from mid-range. The Celtics are about
If the Spurs won tonight against a play-off hungry Jazz team without their three best players, there is a serious argument that they are the best team in the NBA. Actually, considering they are coming off an 11 game winning streak and are sitting at 40-15 on the season, they argument could be made either way. Personally, I still take the Heat and Thunder as the two best teams, but the Spurs could easily replace either of them. The
It’s not often that I base a tweet on a simple highlight play, especially on a night where the Thunder played the Heat, and the Lakers played the Clippers (which were both great games, I might add). But what Blake Griffin did to Pau Gasol tonight was just flat-out wrong. The first dunk, where he came flying in off a missed shot and put the hammer down on Gasol, was the dunk receiving the most attention. The second, however, demands
Surprised? Seems like it, as the Heat beat the Sixers on the shoulders of LeBron James and his 41 points. With Dwayne Wade out, LeBron was expected to carry the load, and he did just that against a strong defensive team in the Sixers. The Heat have now won 16 straight at home, and although they have struggled on the road against stronger teams, they are still looking like one of, if not the best team in the East.I
