Yes, that’s safe to say. Wish I could have said the same about the Rangers earlier tonight. Anyway, the Grizzlies evened up the series with the LA Clippers, winning 105-98. It was a much needed victory, considering their epic meltdown in the last matchup. The Coach of the Year was announced Tuesday, with Gregg Popovich coming out on top by a wide margin. It was certainly well-deserved, but there were plenty of other coaches that warranted attention as well. He had 45 first place votes (311 points), and was followed by Serge Ibaka who had 41 first-place votes (294 points) and and Dwight Howard, who had 186 points. NEW YORK — In a close vote, Tyson Chandler edged Serge Ibaka for Defensive Player of the Year. Chandler becomes the first player in Knicks franchise history to earn the honor. Chandler received 311 points, including 45 first-place votes, from a panel of 121 sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada.
