Rajon Rondo is now in his ninth NBA season. He has led the league in steals once and in assists twice. He is second among active players in triple-doubles. He has made the All-Defensive Team twice and the All-Defensive Second Team twice more. He is a four-time All-Star. And he has a championship ring from 2008 with the Boston Celtics. And he still can’t shoot. That’s the biggest gripe with Rondo, other than the fact that he can be more than a
Fantasy Spin: Westbrook Decision Affects Entire Lineup
Important decisions must be made about the two most expensive superstars before filling out our Friday lineups at DraftKings. Without Anthony Davis $11500 (ankle), the Pelicans lost an ugly game in Phoenix and are in big trouble against the Warriors. Klay Thompson (ankle) is out, making Stephen Curry $9600 and Draymond Green $7600 the best plays, though Steve Kerr probably hopes to limit their minutes and rely on his depth. [Read more…]
PODCAST: Can We Please Have D-Wade vs. LeBron in NBA Playoffs?
Dwyane Wade leads the NBA in fourth-quarter scoring. His team has defeated LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers twice during the regular season when the Cavs have traveled to Miami. If there is one potential matchup that is going to make the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs interesting, it is Heat vs. Cavaliers. As the standings look now, a 2 vs. 7 matchup between the teams could take place. But Miami could still fall to No. 8 or rise

As all eyes were on the 2015 NCAA Tournament, the NBA stepped up with an extraordinary evening of basketball. Sprung: Spurs are living and dying with/without Kawhi Leonard
Where would the San Antonio Spurs be this season without Kawhi Leonard? To answer my own question, probably out of the playoff picture. In a Western Conference where the 8th-seeded New Orleans Pelicans are seven games over .500, the Spurs are 33-16 with Leonard and just 9-9 without him. Leonard leads the team in scoring, defensive rating and minutes per game. There’s an immense difference in Leonard’s stats in Spurs wins and losses, to the point where an off night can torpedo
Fantasy Spin: Nuggets At Rockets Should Be High-Scoring
It’s that time of year, as a popular collegiate tournament takes over the hoops spotlight. Good luck with your brackets! The final month is always “silly season” in the NBA — players get shut down early on bad teams and rested frequently on good teams, just in time to affect the playoffs in traditional Head-to-Head fantasy leagues. SH Blog: Alonzo Mourning thinks Kevin Love will leave the Cavaliers, Dwight Howard may be close to returning
Although LeBron James only went back to Cleveland this past offseason, it is now a very distant memory for most that he was with the Miami Heat last season and won two championships with them overall. Simply put, most are over it and accept the fact that he decided to go back home. There is one guy with the Heat organization who is still scratching his head about James’ decision, though, and his name is Alonzo Mourning. Mourning explained his feelings on James’ departure and provided
Fantasy Spin: Amazing PG Talent Runs Deep
What a strange NBA Tuesday. Anthony Davis got double-teamed, so Quincy Pondexter and Omer Asik were the best Pelicans to own. James Harden had an off-night (just 4-14) and Donatas Motiejunas stepped up to lead the Rockets. To my surprise, the Spurs didn’t rest anyone, yet they somehow lost to the Knicks. [Read more…]
