Last week, rookie big men Tyler Zeller and Andrew Nicholson weren’t even in these rankings. This week, they are in the Rising Stars contest that kicks off All-Star Weekend on Friday night. Zeller, the center of the Cleveland Cavaliers, was among the original field of nine rookies chosen for the game. New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith is always battling slanderous tweets directed towards him, and never fails to bring it up after the conclusion of a game – especially when the team loses, as it did on Wednesday against the Toronto Raptors. Smith scored a team-high 26 points on eight-of-17 shooting – a strong effort by the guard, who had to carry the load for an offensively futile night for the Knicks, as they shot just 35 percent as a team.
