A source within an NBA front office told Sheridan Hoops he considers Real Madrid’s Nikola Mirotic to be the best NBA prospect still playing in Europe. I wholeheartedly agree, and that’s why the Bulls would be crazy to part with the Montengrin power forward in a trade for Pau Gasol, or almost anyone else. [Read more…]
SH Blog: Pau won’t be benched when he comes back
The Lakers can’t seem to buy wins right now. Tonight’s loss to the Jazz put them back to 9-12, eight back of West-leading San Antonio and Oklahoma City, and a game and a half back of eighth-place Minnesota for the last playoff spot in the conference. And yet they’re scoring 3.1 more points per game than they’re allowing, and also they have Dwight Howard and Kobe Bryant. Something doesn’t seem right here. Meanwhile in the East, things are shaking out slightly
UPDATE: Spurs’ Jackson, Celtics’ Wilcox, Cavs’ Scott fined $25K each
San Antonio Spurs swingman Stephen Jackson, Boston Celtics forward Chris Wilcox and Cleveland Cavaliers coach Byron Scott each were fined $25,000 by the NBA on Sunday. UPDATE: Jackson was fined for a hostile tweet directed at Oklahoma City Thunder big man Serge Ibaka. Hubbard: New Orleans Should Embrace “Pelicans”
We come to you today to praise the memory of the Swamp Dragons, who are part of NBA lore but not part of NBA history. They were so close to being real – at least as real as a nickname and mascot could be. But they were extinguished at the last minute, and the only part of them that lives is a logo. [Read more…]
