There were only three NBA games last night, but they were good ones. Before we get to the fantasy recaps and a preview of tonight’s nine-game slate, you are invited to join our Friday Freeroll at FanDuel. [Read more…]
Knicks Stay Unbeaten; Spurs Edge Lakers
The 5-0 Knickerbockers had to step it up in the fourth quarter against the stubborn Magic. Carmelo Anthony led the way with 25 points and 8 boards, Raymond Felton added 21 with 5 assists, and J.R. Smith stayed hot with 21 off the bench. [Read more…]
SH Blog: Lakers players wondering if Mike Brown is right for coaching job?
Fire Mike Brown. That has been the sentiment of many Lakers fans after watching their super team open the season with three straight losses. Don’t believe me? Check out our “When will Mike Brown get fired” poll. It turns out, fans aren’t the only ones having an issue with the scrutinized coach’s methods, from Alex Kennedy of Hoopsworld: Fans have already started calling for Brown’s job and many of his players have started wondering if he’s the right person to lead the team. Carmelo Stars For Knicks; Howard Leads Lakers
In the Sunday matinee, Carmelo Anthony scored 27 points and J.R. Smith was red-hot — 20 PTS, 9 REB in 35 minutes — to lead the Knicks to an easy win. In a great example of the new “position-less NBA,” Melo (admittedly a tall SF) actually played the 5 for a while, surrounded by guards. To Minnesota Timberwolves fans, it’s just another year. The last time
Anthony Davis Can’t Carry Hornets; Love Update
Our 24/7 coverage of Kevin Love’s broken hand began with a Wednesday tweet by Jeff Nichols, continued through my update Thursday morning, led off Bruce Wrigley’s column on auction drafting yesterday and has since returned to Twitter. My feeling is, Love will be fine, and if everyone else in your league overreacts to this unfortunate news, you should take advantage. Bruce cautions that an injury to the shooting hand can have lasting effects, so even if he returns sooner than the six-week
Love Hurts: T-Wolves’ Star Injured
If you already own Kevin Love, his fractured right hand is a bad break indeed. If someone else owns him, you might send a friendly note of sympathy and a trade suggestion. If your league hasn’t drafted yet, this is a possible opportunity. He’s certain to fall, from third or fourth overall to much later in the first round, if not lower. In keeper leagues, Love’s value hasn’t changed. Target him. In redraft leagues, you know he’s going to miss a fifth of
