Media Day is in full swing for a number of teams, which means we will be flooded with quotes in the next few days or so about championship desires, expectations of making the playoffs (even if your team has no shot at it) and players claiming they can shoot the ball now. We’ll have plenty of that and more in today’s blog. But first, be sure to check out some news on the knee situation of a couple of very important
Sixers’ Bynum out three weeks to rest right knee
All-Star Andrew Bynum, the centerpiece in the Philadelphia 76ers’ end of the Dwight Howard trade, will not take the court for three weeks as a precaution for his surgically repaired right knee. Last month, Bynum went to Germany to undergo a non-invasive strengthening procedure on his right knee known as Orthokine/Regenokine. The procedure – not performed in the United States – takes a person’s blood and spins it until it is rich in healing platelets. The blood is then re-injected into
SH Blog: LeBron James is unsatisfied, Nowitzki wants top two or three spot in the West
It’s probably safe to say that LeBron James has had one of the finest summers of his life and if you’re reading this blog, you should probably know why (championship, MVP, gold medal, etc). The funny thing is that just earlier in the year, no one could stop questioning whether James was even the best player or best option down the stretch of a game on his own team. Now? Some are wondering if James is capable of becoming the

Fantasy Spin: September 24, 2012 – Part II
Atlantic Division Fantasy Preview (Part II) For the introduction to this article and our comments on the Nets and Knicks, see Part I. Philadelphia 76ers Another case where last year’s numbers mean very little. The team is now built around the very position (center) that was a constant problem. If you compare Offensive Efficiency (101.7) to Defensive Efficiency(96.3), the Sixers’ differential of 5.1 was fifth-best in the entire NBA. If you had no idea they were that good, you aren’t alone. Best to Own Andrew Bynum
SH Blog: Nets will “fight for the heart” of NYC fans, Knicks “considering” Rasheed Wallace
It’s been tough for Nets fans the last few years. In addition to playing in New Jersey, the team just wasn’t anything to get excited about. But this offseason, things have changed, and now it’s at the point where I’m seeing Nets gear as far away from Brooklyn as Halifax, Nova Scotia. It’s funny how that happens. More on that below, with all the latest NBA news: Perhaps the biggest storyline in the East this season is the Nets’ complete overhaul of
