Steve Nash has retired as a player, and the Internet has been flooded in recent days about the point guard’s glorious past. I am here today to tell you a 15-year-old story that no one else has told, and give you an idea of where Nash hopes to be in five years when he turns 46. Ideally, it’ll be on the gold medal podium at the Tokyo Olympics as the executive director of Team Canada. [Read more…]
Rookie Rankings, Week 18: Elfrid Payton is Rondo With Training Wheels
Rajon Rondo is now in his ninth NBA season. He has led the league in steals once and in assists twice. He is second among active players in triple-doubles. He has made the All-Defensive Team twice and the All-Defensive Second Team twice more. He is a four-time All-Star. And he has a championship ring from 2008 with the Boston Celtics. And he still can’t shoot. That’s the biggest gripe with Rondo, other than the fact that he can be more than a
Fantasy Spin: Amazing PG Talent Runs Deep
What a strange NBA Tuesday. Anthony Davis got double-teamed, so Quincy Pondexter and Omer Asik were the best Pelicans to own. James Harden had an off-night (just 4-14) and Donatas Motiejunas stepped up to lead the Rockets. To my surprise, the Spurs didn’t rest anyone, yet they somehow lost to the Knicks. [Read more…]
Rookie Rankings, Week 17: The Lakers Finally Find a Good Pick

Afterward, Randolph was blown away. “That young fellow, he’s going to be good,” he said. “I didn’t even know who

Four to six weeks? Hey, fantastic! Usually when Derrick gets hurt, it’s four to six months! We can deal with four to six weeks! And they can.

Fantasy Spin: Warriors, Clippers Getting Weary
Call them the Road Warriors. Stephen Curry $9800, Klay Thompson $7700 and Draymond Green $6800 are just 3-2 so far on this swing through the East. They fell behind the Celtics by 26 yesterday before rallying to win. Now they must play their fourth game in five nights. [Read more…]
Fantasy Spin: Suns Could Shine Again
After a busy 14-game Friday in the NBA, fatigue might be a factor this evening. Multiple superstars were available last night with five-digit salaries but the pickings are relatively slim tonight — only two healthy players cost more than $8000. [Read more…]
