What’s big in the media right now? Scandal. No, not the popular television show, Rutgers basketball. The Scarlet Knights are making waves Wednesday after firing their head coach Mike Rice. Rice, who appeared in a video on ESPN’s Outside the Lines abusing his players during practice, was terminated by the school today. A few NBA players spoke up about the scandal on Twitter, including Philadelphia 76ers guard Jason Richardson.
Morning briefing: 4.3.13: Bucks Nation is Rising
We told you yesterday why we are all Bucks fans — each and every person who loves basketball and loves rivalries. And yes, that includes you, Celtics Nation. We want to see your boys go up against the Miami Heat in the first round. Well, how about a little premature rejoicing? [Read more…]
Tweet of the Night: Courtney Lee
Did fans throw some hate messages towards Boston Celtics forward Courtney Lee? After suffering a 110-100 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday, their second consecutive loss and seventh loss in the last nine games, Lee shared his words of frustration on twitter for whatever impatience he may have heard from writers or fans. Here is what he had to say:
Sheridan: Everybody should be a Bucks fan; Test week for Knicks
We have already covered this topic in detail in our latest around-the-NBA column, and it bears repeating here: Everybody who is an NBA fan — and that includes you, too, Celtics Nation — should be hoping the Milwaukee Bucks can catch the Celtics and finish in a tie, at the very least, for seventh place in the Eastern Conference. The Utah Jazz and Boston Celtics both have had to deal with adversity of late and have had to make the tough choice to put their most productive sparks off the bench – Gordon Hayward and Jeff Green, respectively – into the
Sheridan Hoops Sixth Man Rankings: Week 20
A month of the regular season remains. There is still plenty of basketball to be played and still plenty of chances for teams around the league to solidify their playoff positions. On the other hand, there is a handful of teams whose executives may be forced to look at the draft lottery and beyond, even with about 15 games remaining for most teams. The key players off the bench around the NBA are all over the league. They play for teams competing
