After Friday’s dispiriting home loss to the Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni could not take it any longer. D’Antoni went on a wide-ranging rant against his team, targeting its lack of commitment and effort on both sides of the ball. He said the Lakers were “messing with the basketball gods” and called their championship aspirations “laughable.” Although D’Antoni mentioned no one by name, very few wearing the forum blue and gold appeared exempt. For the entire first half, it looked like Miami really didn’t care about their win streak, as the wounded, underdog Cavaliers raced out to a 55-34 lead and LeBron James had just six points. As the college hoops begins the round of 64 on Thursday, the NBA had a very busy night on Wednesday. 11 games made up the NBA schedule on the 20th of March, 2013. The Heat are starting to show god-like qualities, as they not only won their 24th straight game on Wednesday, but they accomplished a small miracle by rallying down 27 points in the second half. Eight games were on the NBA schedule during the Tuesday of Championship Week 2013 as three more teams secured their place in the NCAA tournament.
