New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith is always battling slanderous tweets directed towards him, and never fails to bring it up after the conclusion of a game – especially when the team loses, as it did on Wednesday against the Toronto Raptors. Smith scored a team-high 26 points on eight-of-17 shooting – a strong effort by the guard, who had to carry the load for an offensively futile night for the Knicks, as they shot just 35 percent as a team.

Paul Pierce played 54 of the 63 minutes, had a monster triple-double (27 PTS, 14 REB, 14 AST) and one of his five 3-pointers saved the game. NEW YORK — After the Los Angeles Clippers beat up on the New York Knicks on Sunday afternoon, Carmelo Anthony scoffed at the notion that the Knicks need to make a change or two. “Shump ain’t going nowhere,” Anthony matter-of-factly said when asked about the recent trade rumors involving Iman Shumpert and a potential deal to the Phoenix Suns. “The Knicks shouldn’t even be in trade talk right now,” he said as he walked out of the Knicks locker room.
