After being acquired from Phoenix at the February trade deadline last season, Boston point guard Isaiah Thomas scored 19 points per game off the bench and helped lead the Celtics to an extremely unlikely playoff appearance. Now in his first full season with the Celtics, Thomas took some time to talk to SheridanHoops after a preseason game in Brooklyn about his departure from the Suns, Boston coach Brad Stevens and his expectations for the upcoming 2015-2016 season. Mock Draft 10.0: Final Mock as the Cavs are on the Clock
It’s draft day, and the Cavaliers are on the clock. The Cavs have made it clear to teams that if they trade the No. 1 pick, they want proper compensation in terms of a lottery pick, or two, and a veteran player capable of helping next season. I am hearing that Philadelphia and Boston are still in the mix. This morning the Orlando Magic pulled the trigger on a deal that sent Aaron Afflalo to the Denver Nuggets for Evan Fournier
Mock Draft 8.0: LeBron in play for the Cavs
The NBA Draft was overshadowed today when news broke that LeBron James will be opting out of his contract with the Miami Heat. The four-time MVP had been rumored to be leaning towards opting out, but today his agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Management, confirmed that LeBron informed the Heat of his decision. Unlike four years ago, LeBron no longer shares an agency with Chris Bosh or Dwyane Wade. Today LeBron James is his own entity, and having endured a
Mock Draft 7.0: Parker over Wiggins by a nose
It’s NBA Draft Week, and the Cavaliers are on the clock. Cleveland has eliminated Joel Embiid as a candidate for the top overall pick. There is still a chance the Cavs could opt for Wiggins,

However, some people – most notably Phil Jackson – would disagree because the Spurs haven’t won consecutive titles. Jackson won three consecutive championships on three separate occasions (1991-93, 96-98, 2000-2002).
Tweet of the Day: Bill Simmons Excited About the Celtics
It’s challenging to be a fan of a struggling team, but the real fans are able to do it. Bill Simmons has been a lifelong Celtics fan. He’s criticized his team many times over the years and has even butted heads with some of the top people in the organization. Though, after many losing seasons in the 2000s, the Celtics did have its championship run in 2008. This season, things weren’t looking very promising for the Celtics. After losing Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett
Scotto: Rivers Reunion Becomes a Turning Point for Garnett and Pierce
Kevin Garnett accurately described what everyone thought after he and Paul Pierce battled his former coach, Doc Rivers. “It was a bit weird,” said Garnett. You know what’s even more weird? Watching Pierce come off the bench in back-to-back games for the first time in his career and Garnett on a minutes restriction comparable to a role player. [Read more…]
