Sheridan Hoops Rookie Rankings: Week Three
Damian Lillard made a rookie mistake Sunday night. Lillard didn’t lose track of the shot clock. He didn’t go under the pick-and-roll on a shooter. He didn’t forget to bring the Krispy Kremes to practice. He broke an unwritten NBA rule. [Read more…]
SH Blog: NBA players go wild for Jack Taylor’s 138-point night
Move aside, Wilt Chamberlain and Kobe Bryant. Jack Taylor is in town…? News broke on Tuesday night that Division III basketball player Taylor of Grinnell men’s team scored a video game-esque 138 points in a single game, breaking the previous NCAA scoring record. I don’t know what kind of game was being played for one player to be able to score that many points, but here is a box score of what happened during the game: [Read more…]

Every night in the NBA, something noteworthy happens. It can be anything from a ridiculous facial jam, a scuffle, a milestone or players caught doing silly things on camera. The Rockets are now fining White for every day he is not with the team or does not attend therapy sessions arranged by the team, according to the Houston Chronicle. By all accounts, White is an immensely talented 21-year-old rookie power forward. (I don’t watch much college basketball, so I’ve never seen him play.) He also has
Knicks Stay Unbeaten; Spurs Edge Lakers
The 5-0 Knickerbockers had to step it up in the fourth quarter against the stubborn Magic. Carmelo Anthony led the way with 25 points and 8 boards, Raymond Felton added 21 with 5 assists, and J.R. Smith stayed hot with 21 off the bench. [Read more…]
Anthony Davis only rookie on NBA All-Star ballot; Rubio included, Lillard, Crawford, Kidd snubbed
You can vote for Omri Casspi on the NBA All-Star ballot. But you have to write in – or text in – Damian Lillard. The NBA released its ballot for the 2013 All-Star Game on Tuesday. Voting began this afternoon. As it announced earlier, the center position no longer exists on the ballot. There are still 60 players from each conference, but instead of 24 guards, 24 forwards and 12 centers, there are 24 guards and 36 frontcourt players. However, by our count
