If you are an NBA fan, you should start rooting for the Milwaukee Bucks to snap out of their stupor and the Boston Celtics to stumble down the stretch. Because that will set up the first-round playoff series we all want to see. A slump by the Celtics and a boost from the Bucks over the last 10 or so games would drop Boston into eighth place in the Eastern Conference and a first-round matchup with the Miami Heat. And to paraphrase
Tweet of the Night: Bill Simmons
It’s been mentioned a number of times in our blogs over the past few nights about the worrisome status of the Los Angeles Lakers after losing Metta World Peace for the season and narrowly escaping Minnesota with a controversial victory. After suffering a 113-103 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday – their fourth loss in the last five games – you have to wonder what it’s going to take for this team to make the playoffs. It matters so much more
Sheridan: Mike D’Antoni is probably going to get fired
Well, we don’t have the Heat to gush over anymore. The streak was fun while it lasted, but it became so all-encompassing that many of y’all may have lost sight of the broader landscape across the NBA. [Read more…]

It’s easy to say that the team simply hasn’t gelled – which is true – but they certainly would have been much better than what
Mighty Moke’s Free Agency Rankings (Version 4.0)
Quick and pretty amazing tidbit: this is our fourth version of these free agency rankings, and since we started them, the Miami Heat have not lost. Yes, the Heat are hot and the copious amount of attention they are receiving is something Charlie Sheen could only dream of replicating. So in honor of the Heat, let’s go streaking. [Read more…]
SH Blog: Kyrie Irving could still return this season, Love considers shutting it down
If you are a lottery team heading towards nowhere in particular as the season winds down, what do you do when your best player is due back from an injury? Do you play him in a bunch of meaningless games and risk further injury, or do you play him in hopes of finding chemistry development for next season? That is the question a number of teams are currently dealing with, including the Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves and – to an extent –
