Fantasy Spin: Warriors, Clippers Getting Weary
Call them the Road Warriors. Stephen Curry $9800, Klay Thompson $7700 and Draymond Green $6800 are just 3-2 so far on this swing through the East. They fell behind the Celtics by 26 yesterday before rallying to win. Now they must play their fourth game in five nights. [Read more…]
Heisler: Trade deadline widens gap between best, worst teams
Why is the trade deadline different from all other nights of the year? It’s not. The West just got tougher. In the East, where there’s no life-or-death importance attached to getting better, the top teams sat this one out while the bad teams—your Knicks and 76ers—dumped, shut down or otherwise disposed of their best players in order to tank more definitively. NBA Players React to Trade Deadline Deals
The NBA trade deadline usually brings a lot of activity with it each year. Thursday, however, there was a surplus of trade activity. It almost seemed as if, if there was a deal to be done, it was done. If you’re looking for the details of the trades, our own Chris Sheridan broke down the trade deadline activity earlier this afternoon.. Bernucca: For me, The Best All-Star Game Ever
All-Star Weekend didn’t start out too well for my son, Andrew. On Friday morning, he had an argument with his first serious girlfriend a day before his first serious Valentine’s Day. With that hanging over his head, he had to go to work, where his primary job is to kick mallrats out of the store. And it was the last work day before the All-Star Game and we still hadn’t heard from someone who had said that maybe, just maybe, he
Chris Bosh: Heat “in a 30-game sprint” towards playoff spot
It’s been five years since Chris Bosh found himself in a truly competitive race for a playoff spot. The 2009-2010 season, his last as Toronto’s franchise player and his last before having LeBron James as a teammate, saw his team finish 40-42 and a game behind Chicago for the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference. In his first year without James since that ’09-’10 season, Bosh and his teammates will now compete in a tight playoff race for the first time in half
Photo of the Day: Russell Westbrook, “Fashion King”
Regardless of the title of this Photo of the Day, Russell Westbrook is not the fashion king. I’m sorry to say it, because I like Westbrook as a player, but this can’t be how a so-called “fashion king” should dress. With all of the celebrities and activities and events in New York this weekend, and being the first night of the festivities, Russ was in the fashion capital of America for this photo, and will be the entire weekend. So, look
SH Blog: Wolves ship Williams to Hornets, may cut Neal; Hawks clear cap room by trading Payne to Minnesota
The Minnesota Timberwolves weren’t able to fetch much in return for veteran point guard Mo Williams, shipping both he and second-year guard Troy Daniels to the Charlotte Hornets for guard Gary Neal and a 2019 second-round pick. The trade was first reported by Shams Charania of RealGM, who says the Wolves (11-41) will now explore buyout negotiations with Neal. Neal, 30, has disappointed in his role with Charlotte this year — shooting just 29% from beyond the arc, his specialty — but
