Perhaps no team in the NBA has moved on from its past and looked toward its future more than the Utah Jazz. Virtually all of the ties to the great Jazz teams of the 1990s are gone. In their place are a rookie coach and a starting lineup that figures to have no one older than 24. After defeating Puerto Rico 112-86 in an exhibition match, USA Basketball finalized their roster heading into the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup. With Team USA preparing to leave for Spain on Saturday, it’s decision time for Coach Krzyzewski and Jerry Colangelo on the final 12-man roster. Our Chris Sheridan predicted the following players to be cut from the roster: Gordon Hayward, Kyle Korver, Chandler Parsons and Damian Lillard. NEW YORK — Derrick Rose will play Friday against Puerto Rico, we have been assured. Of course, knee soreness has a way of changing things — which was why Rose did not play Wednesday against the Dominican Republic.
