Riddle me this: If I were to ask you which NBA team could eviscerate the leagues most respected defense, the Chicago Bulls, for 103 points – an offensive efficiency that’s seven points higher than the average mark of the league leading Oklahoma City Thunder – a handful of teams might come to mind. Spurs dodge trouble as Duncan has no structural damage in knee
The San Antonio Spurs’ run of good fortune continued Sunday when star forward Tim Duncan underwent an MRI that revealed no structural damage in his left knee. The Spurs won their 10th straight game Saturday night – their 14th winning streak of at least 10 games under coach Gregg Popovich. But the 96-86 home win over Washington didn’t have a celebratory feel to it. [Read more…]
Eisenberg: Examining Tim Duncan’s astounding FT improvement
Tim Duncan is a horrible pretty darn bad free throw shooter. If you’ve been following the NBA for the past decade and a half, you have probably come to accept that truism. Except for one thing: It isn’t true anymore. It’s not even close to true. It is, in fact, astoundingly untrue this season. [Read more…]

He’s the guy who would have arrived to class early and set the clock 10 minutes forward. [Read more…]
SH Blog: Gay available for trade, D’Antoni’s mind boggled by Stoudemire comment
By now, you may have heard the rumor that Memphis Grizzlies forward Rudy Gay may be available in trade discussions. The question is, when is he ever not on the trading block? The high-flyer’s name seems to come up season after season for one reason or another, from failing to take over as the franchise player the team may have hoped he’d become, to possible chemistry issues with Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol due to his sometimes-chucking tendencies. This probably would not have been
Bauman: As usual, Spurs looking at the big picture
NEW YORK — “What is this, the fiscal cliff?!” exclaimed Gregg Popovich as he came out of the Spurs’ locker room following the Knicks’ second half surge to a 100-83 victory over San Antonio at the Garden. The grizzled, veteran coach was in high spirits despite his team’s first loss in eight games, and with good reason. [Read more…]
