Let’s get something out of the way here. Russell Westbrook is awesome. Westbrook is one of the game’s top five players, and I’ve felt that way for a couple of years. He may not be a better conventional point guard than Chris Paul or Tony Parker or Stephen Curry. James Harden rightfully led Monday night’s headlines with his second triple-double of the season and a virtual ankle-breaking move on Minnesota’s Ricky Rubio. After all, there’s a reason Harden appears to be the league’s probable MVP. But rookie swingman Andrew Wiggins served notice that he could very well challenge Harden and the NBA’s other elite players in the years ahead. James Harden has one of the most incredible, bushiest beards you’ll ever see in your life. I guess that’s what happens when you don’t shave for years at a time. But, there was a time when he didn’t have his famous calling card growing on his face. The NBA’s trade deadline is now under 48 hours away at 3 p.m. Eastern time Thursday, and it’s the Phoenix Suns who seem to be driving the market. The Suns are expected to meet Tuesday with Bill Duffy, the agent for Goran Dragic. The assumption, of course, is that the Suns would like an indication from their point guard on his offseason plans. With Thursday’s NBA trade deadline quickly approaching, one of the bigger names who’s rumored to be dealt is Phoenix Suns point guard Goran Dragic. Despite Phoenix clinging to a half-game lead over Oklahoma City for the 8th and final playoff spot in the Western Conference, the Suns reportedly may want to deal Dragic, who’s an unrestricted free agent after the season. The Lakers, Rockets and other teams have been trying to persuade the Suns to deal Dragic, according to an ESPN.com report
NEW YORK – Draymond Green picked the best time to have a breakout season – his contract year. Several general managers and executives, who spoke to SheridanHoops on the condition of anonymity, pegged Green’s value between $10-14 million per year as an unrestricted free agent this summer.
