Could the apocalypse be upon us? Or perhaps a deadly, fire breathing dragon? Probably not. However, those could be valid reasons as to why NBA on TNT commentator and analyst Steve Kerr might be freaking out on Twitter. The other reason, the real one, could potentially spell the end of NBA coaches’ Hack-A-Dwight strategies, and propel the Houston Rockets center, Dwight Howard, up into the top echelon of the NBA’s elite. What is the big deal? [Read more…]

Tweet of the Day: Daryl Morey leading Houston to greatness
The Houston Rockets have themselves a winner with general manager Daryl Morey. He’s been at the forefront for Houston in landing Dwight Howard in free agency and pulled off a trade to score James Harden. Morey now has a team that is in championship talks for the first time since he became GM in 2007. It’s quite obvious he’s loving the extra attention and is excited to get his two stars on the court together. Ok, that picture is amazing @JHarden13 @DwightHoward
Tweet of the Night: New Trend Among NBA Players: High School Football
Houston Rockets stars Dwight Howard and Chandler Parsons made waves Thursday, when they attended a high school football game in Texas at the prompting of one of its players on Twitter. Southwest Division 2013-14 Team-By-Team Season Previews
This is the home of the defending NBA champions. No, Gregg Popovich, we haven’t forgiven you for blowing Game 6. This podcast, one of the better anti-Popovich rants you’ll hear, might only be topped by this Popovich bashfest. Ah, we sure were spunky back in late June. Well, the only key guy missing from last season’s Spurs (aside from Pop’s two top assistants, who moved on to bigger and better things) is Gary Neal, who has been replaced by Marco Belinelli, which
Tweet of the Day: Royce White brushes off his critics
Royce White is often the subject of some harsh criticism when it comes to NBA fans speaking openly about the players. His career started with the Houston Rockets but was shipped to their D-League affiliate the Rio Grande Valley Vipers during the season. The 6-foot-8 forward is now on the Philadelphia 76ers roster after being traded in early July. White has a severe anxiety disorder which makes him scared to fly and he also suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder. In turn, those illnesses affect
Five Things To Watch: Houston Rockets
Times flies. And things change. The Houston Rockets are Exhibit A. One year ago, the Houston Rockets headed into training camp seemingly empty-handed after a summer spent chasing Dwight Howard via a trade with Orlando. Gone were Luis Scola, Goran Dragic, Kyle Lowry, Samuel Dalembert, Courtney Lee and countless others, and in were the unproven Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik. It was a seemingly disappointing offseason, but just before the season was set to start, GM Daryl Morey changed all of that,
Five Things to Watch: New Orleans Pelicans
A lot can change in just under five months. Just ask the basketball fans of New Orleans. They really needed change after what went on last season. The 2012-2013 season was dark and gloomy for NOLA hoops. The team finished 14th in the Western Conference at 27-55, with an 11-30 road record that was also 14th in the conference. The team had trouble scoring (more on that later) and winning intraconference games. Its record against West teams was 15-37, good for
