Paul George has always had it in him. That’s why despite going to Fresno State, a relatively small school that’s part of the Mountain West Conference, and deciding to turn pro after just his sophomore season, the Indiana Pacers selected him 10th overall in the 2010 draft. [Read more…]

Bernucca: Why are Warriors the NBA’s biggest surprise?
The best team flying under the radar has two rookies in its starting lineup. But it’s not the Charlotte Bobcats. It is missing its oft-injured big man. But it’s not the Philadelphia 76ers. It has All-Star candidates at point guard and power forward. But it’s not the Los Angeles Clippers. It is an original NBA franchise that has not won a title since the 1970s. But it’s not the New York Knicks. [Read more…]
Mark Jackson: Son of New York City, Ire Of Its Fans
NEW YORK — With five seconds remaining in the game and his Indiana Pacers clinging to a 97-95 lead, Mark Jackson saw his former running mate, Patrick Ewing—a man Jackson once dished dimes to as if it were his personal duty—miss a finger-roll that would have forced overtime. It was a team night for Indiana and Michigan, but boy oh boy did individuals shine brightly on Tuesday
SH Blog: Bynum hurt bowling, D’Antoni listed as “day to day”
On Sunday, the NBA started an hour before the NFL with the New York Knicks hosting the Indiana Pacers. The Knicks were coming off their first loss of the season Friday at the hands of the Memphis Grizzlies. They made sure that wasn’t going to happen again, outclassing the Pacers in an 88-76 victory. The Boston Celtics also raised expectations by adding some key pieces in the offseason, then promptly stumbled out of the gate. But there were no death stares, insurrections, coach beheadings or panic moves. But there are some problems in Beantown. Let’s allow team leader Kevin Garnett to explain. “You can’t speed chemistry up,” Garnett said.
