BROOKLYN – Mikhail Prokhorov once vowed to take over New York as owner of the Brooklyn Nets and turn Knicks fans into Nets fans. When Chris Smith, the brother of J.R. Smith, made the New York Knicks roster a few days before the start of the season, there were whispers around the league that the move was made largely because of his family ties with J.R.
