LeBron James Traveling for Rehab LeBron James has been rehabilitating his back and sore knee for the past week and is expected to miss another week to boot. The interesting thing to note is not how he is rehabbing it, but where. James spent part of this past week doing rehab in Miami, taking advantage of the warmer weather. And, while he has been avoiding sitting on the bench during Cavs games to spare his ailing back, it is for the warmer
SH Blog: Kevin Love responds to Glen Taylor’s comments, Doc Rivers signs a monster five-year contract with Clippers, Colangelo calls James Harden a leader
Some NBA owners have a tendency to hold grudges when the star players on their team decide that it’s time to abandon ship, so it was no surprise when Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor provided a pretty good example of having some bad feelings towards Kevin Love when asked to speak about his former franchise player. To summarize, Taylor more or less said the following about Love: he’s the third best player on the Cleveland Cavaliers, he is injury prone, doesn’t
Sheridan: Jay-Z taking blame for Durant quitting Team USA
CHICAGO – Not a lot of Jay-Z fans here. At least not among the U.S. federation. They aren’t exactly burning his CDs, but they are enumerating the burned bridges as the fallout from Kevin Durant’s abrupt departure from the U.S. national team continues to spread. Team USA is only the latest entity to be left with a sour taste after dealing with Durant and his latest agent. The folks at Nike aren’t exactly happy. The folks at Gatorade already were unhappy. “It’s like

Photo NBAE / Nathaniel S. Butler Chicago — USA Basketball held their first practice since the gruesome injury that befell Indiana Pacers All-Star Paul George. Sheridan: How Will Team USA Cut From 16 to 12?
The first round of Team USA cuts have been made. Adios John Wall, Bradley Beal and Paul Millsap. The roster now stands at 16. They have to cut it to 12 — and they’ve said they will cut it to 12 before leaving later this month for the World Cup in Spain. They still have four point guards. They are back to having just one power forward. They have four centers, one of whom — Andre Drummond — played horribly in
Gonzo: Derrick Rose Looks Great for Team USA, but There is PG Glut
LAS VEGAS — All I heard on the way out here was that Team USA executive director Jerry Colangelo and coach Mike Krzyzewski have a big problem with the recent withdrawal of big man Kevin Love, and what are they going to do at power forward? Well, after watching the first practice, I think they have a second problem — but this is the good kind. They have five point guards who can all flat-out play, and my guess is they can
Tweet of the Day: Derrick Rose Impresses At Team USA Practice
Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose has spent an almost innumerable amount of time (years, months, weeks, days, hours…) focused on rehabilitation while sidelined with injuries. Finally, he is back. At least, that was the hope heading into Monday’s Team USA practice in Las Vegas. Sometimes, hope is all you have. Then, there are the bright spots where your hope is superseded by reality. This could be one of those times. Reaction from those who were at the practice seems to be quite
Kevin Love Withdraws from Team USA
Kevin Love has withdrawn from Team USA because of his “current status.” That was the explanation given Saturday morning in a news release from USA Basketball announcing that Love will not play for the United States at the World Cup in Spain. Love’s withdrawal exacerbates the one roster issue the American team was already facing: A lack of depth at power forward following the withdrawal of Blake Griffin. Love was a lock to be the starting power forward. [Read more…]
