Good Westbrook, Bad Westbrook will certainly be the title of the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde of our time. The only problem is that Russell Westbrook is the one that’s writing it. He’s at it again, and while the root of the incident itself is relatively minor, the bigger picture looms large over the Oklahoma City Thunder’s championship quest. Teams as cohesive and talented as OKC die from internal – not external – wounds, and as long as Westbrook continues to ride like
SH Blog: Suns want Josh Smith, Rubio says Lakers misusing Pau Gasol
Now that Rudy Gay has finally been traded, who is the next significant player to go before the trade deadline? How about Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith, who thinks he deserves a max deal because, well, because he’s Josh Smith? The Phoenix Suns were highly interested in acquiring the services of Gay, but with that option out the door, their desires may be shifting towards Smith, according to Alex Kennedy of Hoopsworld: The Suns are pursuing Josh Smith, according to multiple league sources.
SH Blog: D’Antoni could drive Howard away, Gasol privately expects to be traded
What is it with Mike D’Antoni and his disinterest in all things big men? Dwight Howard – though some of it is due to his own physical and mental issues – has been marginalized too often in the Los Angeles Lakers’ offense under D’Antoni. Pau Gasol – the man that dominated in Olympics competition over the past summer and helped Kobe Bryant win two championships – has been benched in favor of Earl Clark, who doesn’t play like your traditional big man. The Bernucca List – Edition 40
Alex C. is one of the many Sheridan Hoops readers who make this site possible. We have a number of interactive features on Sheridan Hoops. One of them is this one – The Bernucca List, which tests the NBA knowledge of our readers in what we think is a fun way. Alex C. nailed the correct answer to last week’s list, which was “Players who have finished second in MVP voting multiple times.” Everyone on the list finished second at least twice;

NBA players react strongly to All-Star reserve selections on twitter
There were selections, and then there were snubs. Coaches around the league made their decisions on who is worthy of being an All-Star reserve this season, and as it occurs every season, players worthy of an All-Star berth were left off the roster. The verdict on Stephen Curry from the Western Conference and Brook Lopez from the Eastern Conference – by far – were the biggest surprises, given the overall impact and success each player has brought for their respective teams. Every season,
DraftStreet Diary: You Don’t Have To Finish First To Win Cash; Try Our $300 Freeroll
My attempt to master a relatively new form of fantasy basketball has its ups and downs. Wednesday was a lot of fun. After dropping $35 from the weekly $100 bankroll in just two nights, I joined a handful of $2 leagues. Entering the maximum three teams in two different GPP (Guaranteed Prize Pool) events paid off, as I replaced the injured Al Horford (and Greg Stiemsma) with Josh Smith and Ivan Johnson, who were both outstanding in the Hawks’ win.
Curry (31) Leads Warriors Over Thunder; Lakers Tailspin Continues
Once again, Stephen Curry (31 PTS, 7 AST, 3 REB, 4 STL) exceeded all expectations. If he isn’t named an All-Star, it’s a traveshamockery. David Lee (22 PTS, 12 REB) showed no sign of his ankle injury, Klay Thompson added 19 points and the two-man bench of Jarrett Jack (9 PTS, 8 AST, 3 REB) and Carl Landry (20 PTS, 7 REB) helped the Warriors beat another top team.
