The Trail Blazers, who were had lost eight of their previous ten games and had been on a seven-game losing streak, defeated the Boston Celtics 92-86 behind the strong play of their shooting guard. Wesley Matthews was on fire, leading all scorers with 24 points on 72.7-percent shooting.
