What Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra did Monday night is called coaching. Or was it overcoaching? That’s where the debate lies with his risky and somewhat questionable maneuver. Spoelstra benched All-Star guard Dwyane Wade for the entire fourth quarter of the Heat’s 104-97 loss at Utah. He kept All-Star forward Chris Bosh on the bench for all but the final 40 seconds, when the game was pretty much decided. And he kept starting power forward Udonis Haslem on the bench. [Read more…]
Clippers Maul Grizzlies; Durant & Westbrook Combine for 77 Points
Go figure. You take the great Chris Paul (kneecap) out of the Clippers lineup and they drop 99 on a very good defensive team. Eric Bledsoe (14 PTS, 4 AST, 3 REB, 2 STL) did a fine job filling in at PG and that talented L.A. bench did the rest, with 16 apiece from Matt Barnes and Jamal Crawford. [Read more…]

Miami Heat All-Star leader LeBron James started his career in Sacramento. His first game as an NBA rookie for the Cleveland Cavaliers was played in ARCO Arena. (Sheridan covered it). So, as the day draws nearer that the Kings may soon make their exodus to Seattle, it seemed fitting that the Heat forward would make a nostalgic splash at the rim.
