Superstar LeBron James will miss at least two weeks while he recovers from knee and back strains, the Cleveland Cavaliers announced Thursday. The seemingly indestructible James sat out the last two games with what was called soreness in his left knee. He underwent a barrage of tests at the Cleveland Clinic that included an MRI and revealed strains to his left knee and lower back, the team said in a statement. Treatment will include anti-inflammatories, rehabilitation, training room treatments and rest. James’
Brumagin: Love Lost as LeBron Sits Out On 30th Birthday
ATLANTA — The Cavs may have to re-purpose an old Alfred Lord Tennyson quote: “‘Tis better to have [Kevin] Love and lost than to never have Love at all.” Not quite what Tennyson had in mind, but one might have asked such a question after the dismal performance the Cleveland power forward gave prior to leaving Tuesday’s marquee Eastern Conference matchup with the Atlanta Hawks. Love made only one of eight shots — a three-pointer — and hit four free throws for
Tweet of the Night: Without comment, Bill Simmons posts a clip of LeBron James’ commercial from October
The Cleveland Cavaliers are not playing like the team many expected them to be (sound familiar?), and it has been causing all sorts of unnecessary drama over the past week or so. It all kind of started when LeBron James stated he was “in chill mode” during a contest against the Orlando Magic, which he said was “deactivated” when Tobias Harris riled him up. Although James clarified those comments on Tuesday by stating “it had nothing to do with me not
SH Blog: LeBron James looks open to ‘bolting’ Cleveland; Nets bench two stars
It’s still too early to push the panic button, but the situation in Cleveland is becoming more troubling by the day. The Cavs are now 18-12 after an embarrassing home loss Sunday to outmanned Detroit. That record that places them as only the No. 5 seed in the mediocre East, which is hardly what LeBron James envisioned when an apparent “super team” was formed over the offseason with James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love. Anderson Varejao, one of the team’s only reliable big men, was

Tweet of the Day: LeBron James Supports New Kyrie 1 Signature Shoe
Earlier in December, Nike announced the release of the Kyrie 1, the first signature shoe of Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving. Teammate and two-time NBA champion LeBron James offered his support in an interview with Darren Rovell of ESPN at the time. It’s great. I’m happy for him. I was there as a friend, as a teammate, as a brother of his. I know what it’s all about. It’s a different feeling for him now. It’s a lot of pressure, too,
VIDEO: How much is LeBron James to blame for Cavs struggles?
I am not one to panic, but then again, I am not from Cleveland. But if I was from northeast Ohio, I have to admit I would be at least a little bit antsy about the state of the Cavs following their 23-point loss to the Pistons. Look, when you are getting booed on your home court just two months into what is supposed to be a special season, there are issues. When you are 5-5 in your last 10 games
SH Blog: Detroit Sets Franchise Record for 3’s in Rout of Cavs, Kobe Returns to Action
The Cleveland Cavaliers hosted the Detroit Pistons on Sunday evening and were blown out of the water. The Cavs lacked emotion, effort and chemistry throughout the entire game. Detroit went on to set a franchise record for three pointers made in a game in the 103-80 victory. They knocked down 17 of their 31 attempts from deep, a ridiculous 55% shooting. [Read more…]
