Overtime. It’s great when your guys are involved, not so much when you’re watching others rack up the ‘extra’ fantasy points. Three of the seven games last night required at least one extra frame. [Read more…]
Fantasy Spin: Grizzlies Mauling Opposition
Ten more NBA games are on tap for Wednesday night, with the most interesting in Houston. Not 100% sure it’s a great play in daily fantasy, as both the Grizzlies and Rockets are excellent defensively, but with Dwight Howard (knee), Patrick Beverley (hamstring), Terrence Jones (leg) and Isaiah Canaan (ankle) all unavailable, I’m leaning heavily to Memphis. [Read more…]
Fantasy Spin: Raptors Adjust to DeRozan Injury
How do you replace DeMar DeRozan? Toronto’s all-star and leading scorer will be out indefinitely with a groin injury that involves a torn tendon. His misfortune actually benefits daily fantasy players, because salaries have yet to adjust and at least three Raptors will share those 33 minutes per game. [Read more…]
Fantasy Spin: $200,000 Contest at DraftKings
Big Wednesday means 13 NBA games and a top prize of $20,000 in the huge $200K Crossover — $27 to enter, maximum 8,400 teams, top 1,850 get paid. [Read more…]

Right now, they look like a typical front-running team that lacks mental toughness and gives in at the first sign of trouble. That was evident Saturday, when the Cavaliers sprinted to a 26-8 lead in the first eight minutes – and were overwhelmed thereafter
Fantasy Spin: Bulls Lose, Backers Win
Yesterday, I all but guaranteed the Bulls would win and they lost by 15. But we don’t care about team results in DFS. Using six Chicago players in my DraftKings lineup paid off handsomely. [Read more…]
Denver Nuggets struggling without star power
Of the eight teams that reached the Western Conference playoffs last season, six of them had at least one player among the NBA’s top-20 in win shares. The two playoff teams that did not have a player among the top 20 were Memphis, with stars Marc Gasol, Mike Conley and Zach Randolph, and San Antonio, who boasts the famed star quartet of Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Kawhi Leonard. Obtaining, maintaining and sustaining a roster with All-Star level talent
Fantasy Spin: Targeting Mavericks, Warriors
For the second night in a row, a top-dollar superstar disappointed. James Harden double-doubled, but when you pay more than 20% of the salary cap for any player, only a massive line is good value in daily fantasy. [Read more…]
