Really, it shouldn’t be a shock that a 10-14 team isn’t good. We’re past the point where that could be a huge fluke, right? [Read more…]
Sheridan: Heat lacking intensity, Warriors are for real
Earlier this week, Chris Perkins – our man in Miami – told us that the defending champion Heat aren’t ready to sound the alarms of concern over their recent play, which has looked a bit distracted. I spoke with Cinesport’s Noah Coslov about the same topic, hours after Miami’s dispassionate disposition continued in a last-second home loss to the Golden State Warriors. [Read more…]
SH Blog: Love rips Timberwolves management, Magic Johnson says Pau Gasol being misused
As the season approached near, an incredible sense of optimism surrounded the Minnesota Timberwolves. Ricky Rubio was due back from microfracture surgery at some point in December. Nikola Pekovic looked to reach new heights after a breakout rookie season. Newly acquired players like Andrei Kirilenko, Chase Budinger, Alexey Shved and Greg Stiemsma provided the team with excellent depth. Brandon Roy would make a triumphant comeback from degenerative knees after showing much promise during workouts in the offseason. Most importantly, Kevin
Bernucca: Why are Warriors the NBA’s biggest surprise?

Chris Wilcox, a backup power forward for the Boston Celtics sent his condolences via Twitter on Tuesday.
Tweet of the Day: Kyrie Irving

Depleted Timberwolves sign Josh Howard
The injury-ravaged Minnesota Timberwolves signed forward Josh Howard on Friday in an effort to strengthen their depleted roster. No terms were disclosed, although it is likely Howard – beginning his 10th season – received the veteran’s minimum. He will be in uniform when the Timberwolves host the Golden State Warriors on Friday night. [Read more…]
Bernucca: In case you haven’t noticed, Celtics have issues, too
While all of the focus has been on the soap opera swirl around the Los Angeles Lakers, the NBA’s other similarly storied franchise has its own set of issues. The Boston Celtics also raised expectations by adding some key pieces in the offseason, then promptly stumbled out of the gate. But there were no death stares, insurrections, coach beheadings or panic moves. But there are some problems in Beantown. Let’s allow team leader Kevin Garnett to explain. “You can’t speed chemistry up,” Garnett said.
