Who has time for the NBA during the NCAA Tournament? We do. And on Friday night, you should have made time, too. From John Rohde of the Daily Oklahoman: “Inside one locker room sat a player who had just set a single-game franchise record for points scored, while four chairs away sat a teammate who had collected his first career triple-double with 25 points, 14 assists and 10 rebounds. And this was on the losing team. Inside the victorious locker room across
Sheridan: Future owed draft picks that may be trade assets
Sometimes a trade can be a bitter pill to swallow, but a sweetener of some sort can make it easier to digest. Sometimes, that sweetener comes in the form of $3 million in cash. Other times, a future draft pick or two can even things out in the minds of the men making the deal. With the NBA trade deadline is now 10 days away, cellphone minutes are being burned at this very moment as teams try to maneuver the moves that will either
Kyle Lowry out 2-4 weeks with bacterial infection
The bottom of the Western Conference playoff race just opened up a bit wider. The Houston Rockets, who currently hold the eighth and final spot in the West, announced Monday that will be without do-it-all point guard Kyle Lowry for two to four weeks due to a bacterial infection. The Rockets played New Jersey over the weekend, and Lowry was taken to a New York hospital with an illness. He underwent tests that revealed the infection and will remain hospitalized until Tuesday,
Rubio has torn ACL; Out for the season
Ricky Rubio’s season is over. We won’t see him at the Olympics, either. A source close to Rubio told SheridanHoops.com that tests performed Saturday morning showed a torn anterior cruciate ligament in Rubio’s left knee. He was injured in a collision with Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers late in Friday night’s loss. “There are no other tears,” the source said of Rubio’s knee. Rubio has averaged 10.5 points, 8.2 assists and 2.2 steals for the Timberwolves, the most surprising team in the Western

It’s not Lin’s fault that his novelty has somewhat worn off. He is still playing pretty well, as evidenced by

Sheridan likes Kaman to Pacers, Crawford to Grizzlies or Wolves; Hinrich to Lakers
// Almost all of the trade deadline attention is focused on Orlando, where the Magic have to figure out what they are going to do with Dwight Howard. D-12 is the top domino, and there could be a lot of residual movement if he is traded before next Thursday’s deadline. But there are also other trades being discussed that have absolutely nothing to do with the Magic; trades that would take second-echelon teams to the next level. Thunder uses D to beat Big D; Love manhandles Clippers; Bulls bomb Pacers
As dominant as the Oklahoma City Thunder have been this season, they seem to get the benefit of the doubt when it comes to late controversial calls. The Thunder trailed by a point with 46 seconds remaining Tuesday night when Dallas center Ian Mahinmi appeared to cleanly block Serge Ibaka’s shot, but the whistle was blown for a foul, much to the dismay of Mahinmi and Rick Carlisle. Ibaka made both free throw attempts and the Thunder never looked back as they
