The old crystal ball was pretty accurate for once; Carmelo Anthony (23 PTS) and Tyson Chandler (18 PTS, 17 REB) destroyed Byron Mullens (6) and Brendan Haywood (4) as expected. I also called Kemba Walker (25 PTS, 11 AST) and Ben Gordon (17) for big games. [Read more…]
Tweet of the Day: Stephen Curry
The Hornets future in New Orleans is expected to soon come to an end. No, the team is not moving elsewhere. They are, however, expected to change their team name. If you haven’t heard about it yet, just check out the reaction from Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry.

SH Blog: Woodson always believed Lin was a backup point guard
When Jeremy Lin came out of nowhere to dominate games for the New York Knicks last season, he captured the hearts of fans everywhere and was in many ways, inspiring. He was easily the story of the shortened NBA season. The story known as Linsanity ended some time ago, though, and what was once mostly praise has turned into slander and bitterness towards the young point guard, who has struggled this season and is trying to find his way in a new
FanDuel Diary: Daily Leagues A Challenge
Congratulations to “tuuckk” whose team scored 263 fantasy points to win the $200 first prize in our Saturday Freeroll. It was a tough beat for “muggsy205,” who finished a strong second with 261 but earned nothing in the winner-take-all payout format. My team limped home 88th out of 146 entries, as “sure thing” Varejao was outplayed by Chris Kaman, who ironically had bombed in my Friday Freeroll lineup to cost me at least a consolation prize. Week 3 has been very
Spurs Rally; Nuggets Win in Double OT; MKG Shines
In the game of the night, Gary Neal scored a career-high 27 points to lead a furious Spurs comeback. Manu Ginobili (17) had his best game yet, and even without Tony Parker (illness) they scored 39 fourth-quarter points to prevail. For the Blazers, Nicolas Batum (33) and LaMarcus Aldridge (29) were terrific in defeat and rookie Damian Lillard added 20 points, but the Portland bench is really, really bad — they were outscored 63-4 by the San Antonio reserves. Bernucca: Lakers’ offense struggling with Ivy League courseload
You can point to a handful of reasons why the Los Angeles Lakers are on the verge of panic. Dwight Howard missed all of training camp and most of preseason recovering from back surgery. Kobe Bryant has a sprained foot that requires him to wear a walking boot. Steve Nash is out for a while with a fracture in his fibula. That lack of continuity led to 11 straight losses – all eight in the preseason, which the Lakers dismissed as games that don’t count,
Lopez Leads Nets; Bosh Drops 40; Warriors Win
The Nets are undefeated in their new home thanks to Brook Lopez, who scored 27 points. He used his size to get Jonas Valanciunas in early foul trouble, then his speed to beat Aaron Gray, after Toronto coach Dwane Casey showed his prize rookie some tough love at the end of the bench. Deron Williams (19 PTS, 9 AST) did a nice job of facilitating, and C.J. Watson got 28 minutes; he’s the backup PG but played off the ball with D-Will quite a bit and could be
