Some prominent NBA athletes are still recuperating from injuries, taking necessary time off to recover, heal and rest from weariness and prolonged seasons that may have gone deep in the playoffs. Some, like Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash, among others, are in Brazil enjoying the 2014 FIFA World Cup. There are plenty, like LeBron James, who are on vacation, spending time with their families. Still, there are those who are already hard at work, trying to improve for the 2014-15 NBA season.
Tweet of the Night: Los Angeles Lakers Scorch The New York Knicks, Twitter Reacts
Tuesday night’s showdown between the Knicks and Lakers was a bit one-sided. The New York Knicks, who had been surging towards the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference with a recent string of eight straight wins, have (seemingly) fallen flat on their faces. If their recent fourth-quarter collapse against the hapless (and Kyrie Irving-less) Cleveland Cavaliers wasn’t bad enough, they travelled to Los Angeles for a shellacking at the hands of the short-handed Lakers. Tweet of the Day: New York Knicks FINALLY Usher In Phil Jackson Era
After what seemed like weeks of deliberation, rumors that he was possibly leveraging the New York Knicks against the Los Angeles Lakers to get the job he (presumably) really wanted, and a lot of TV and radio discussion, the wait is finally over. Phil Jackson has formally been announced as the Knicks new president of basketball operations. News coverage for Phil’s new job, from its early discussions to its formal announcement, has been at an all-time high. You can find plenty of
Tweet of the Day: Carmelo Anthony Revisits All-Star Media Day
The 2014 NBA All-Star Weekend is well behind us, in the rearview mirror as we streak away towards the end of the regular season and the NBA Playoffs. For some teams the playoffs may be out of reach. The New York Knicks, for instance, are only six games back of the 8th-seed with 25 games remaining. However, with only two wins in their last 10 outings and the team in effective disarray—Raymond Felton facing gun charges, Metta World Peace being released,
Tweet of the Day: LeBron Reminisces After All-Star Weekend
Whew. What a long weekend? Of course, you may have guessed, the weekend in question was the 2014 NBA All-Star Weekend which culminated in a record breaking, high scoring game Sunday night. Monday afternoon, a day after competing in the East’s 163-155 victory over the West in the All-Star Game, Miami Heat forward LeBron James took to social media to reminisce on how quickly time has flown by since he, teammate Dwyane Wade and New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony came into
Tweet of the Day: Shane Larkin Laments Cincinnati Bengals Loss
Dallas Mavericks rookie point guard Shane Larkin, son of baseball Hall of Fame shortstop Barry Larkin, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio. So, it would make sense that he’d have attention turned to the AFC Wildcard game Sunday afternoon between the Cincinnati Bengals and the San Diego Chargers prior to his Sunday night game against the New York Knicks. Unfortunately, the outcome was not as he had hoped. Cincinnati, often lampooned as the Bungles after years of inventing ways to lose games,
Tweet of the Day: Metta World Peace Active On Twitter Again?
As if he ever left Twitter in the first place…with the New York Knicks coming off of a 105-101 victory over the San Antonio Spurs, Metta World Peace is now active on Twitter again. Twas yet another example of Metta being Metta on Twitter. He qualified his social media activity by suggesting that he can’t tweet when his team loses. [Read more…]
Tweet of the Day: Knicks Looking to Acquire Kyle Lowry?
Season-long unhappiness and the recent addition of Greivis Vasquez—who came in the Rudy Gay trade with the Sacramento Kings—to the Toronto Raptors backcourt now have point guard Kyle Lowry’s name being discussed in trade talks with the New York Knicks, among other potential suitors. The Knicks could use Lowry’s services with their leading point guard, Raymond Felton, having left hamstring problems that have lingered since the beginning of the season and now have him missing the next 2-3 weeks of action.
